NFL 2021-22 Season: Giants at Washington Betting Prediction & Pick

NFL 2021-22 Season: Giants at Washington Betting Prediction & Pick

The NFC East has already been decided, neither of these teams are in the playoffs, both of them have had horrible seasons, so we’ll be seeing a meaningless game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, as the New York Giants will host the Washington Football Team.

The most intriguing surrounding the Washington Football Team is what their new name will be. On February 2nd, the team will announce its new mascot. Other than the end of a dismal season, that’s the only thing that Washington fans have to look forward to.

The Giants are in the same boat. They can’t wait for their season to come to an end. At 4-12, the Giants have earned themselves a high pick in next year’s draft. They also own the rights to the Chicago Bears’ first-round pick, so they should be sitting in a great position in the 2022 draft. They have numerous areas to address, so those picks will be a huge asset for the Giants. With all that in mind, it’s time to take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this Giants vs Washington matchup so you can bet against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting Preview for New York Giants vs Washington Football Team

New York Giants

The Giants have battled injuries all season long, and they’ll have a lot of players out with injuries on Sunday. As of now, it looks like Jake Fromm will start at quarterback, as Mike Glennon has sat out practice with a wrist injury. Glennon had a horrible game last week against the Bears, so it’s hard to believe that Fromm could do any worse.

A bright spot for the Giants last week was Saquon Barkley. Barkley ran for over 100 yards last week against the Bears, the first time he had run for over 100 in a long while. We shall see if Barkley can do it again this week against the Washington Football Team.

Washington Football Team

Even though they have nothing to play for, Ron Rivera has proclaimed that Commanders will be going all out to win this one. The WFT plans on starting Taylor Heinicke and playing him as long as needed. For the most part, the WFT will be playing their starters and will be playing to win.

Storylines

Even though this game is meaningless, and there will probably be less than 20,000 people in the 82,000 seat MetLife Stadium, there are still some storylines surrounding this game. Will Joe Judge and Dave Gettleman survive after this season? Can Barkley get his second straight 100-yard game? Does anyone care who even wins this game?

Prediction

The Giants have lost five straight games, and six of their last seven. Washington has lost four straight. Washington is a 6.5-point favorite to beat the Giants on Sunday. The way the Giants have played recently, we can’t see them having any chance in this one. Jake Fromm was awful before being benched against the Bears, and the Giants couldn’t find a way to put up points against a bad Bears defense.

Washington is playing to win, and they want to end their season on a good note. We think that the WFT wins this one easily, and covers the spread. Washington ends their season on a high note with a 24-10 victory over the hapless New York Giants.
