Super Bowl LV will be upon us before you know it, with the big game now just a matter of a few weeks away. Heading into the Divisional Round, there are still 8 teams left in the hunt, some of whom have QBs looking for their first championship. There are 4 QBs left who have won in the past, although none of them can touch Tom Brady and his ring collection. One of those QBs is Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. He already has a Super Bowl win, but does he need another this year to cement his status as an elite MVP? Let’s find out so you can make your bets against their Super Bowl odds.

NFL Betting Analysis | Does Aaron Rodgers have to win the Super Bowl?

Aaron Rodgers Regular Season History

Before we start talking about the postseason and how Rodgers has performed in the playoffs, it’s worth looking back at how he has performed overall, as that plays a big role in how his career will eventually be evaluated.

Rodgers came into the NFL with some huge shoes to fill, as he was the QB that immediately followed Brett Favre, an absolute legend, and Super Bowl winner, in Green Bay. His first full season came in 2008, with the Packers going 6-10 and Rodgers throwing 28 TD and 13 INT, the latter of which proved to be a career worst. He only had one more double-digit IN season in the years that followed, with that one coming in 2010.

His first 100 QB Rating season came in 2009, and he hit or surpassed that number for 6 straight seasons. Since taking over as the starter in 2008, Rodgers has led the Packers to 7 division titles, while also taking them to the playoffs 10 times. Overall, he has completed 65.1% of his passes and had an average passer rating of 103.9, which are both outstanding numbers. He has a pair of NFL MVP awards and will likely win his 3rd this season.

Aaron Rodgers Postseason History

Rodgers’ first full appearance in the postseason came in 2009, but it was short lived, with the Packers falling to the Cardinals in the Wild Card. The next year proved to be a whole lot better, though, as Rodgers guided the Packers to a 31-25 win over the Steelers in a game where he also landed the MVP Award. That proved to be the one and only Super Bowl win for the Packers.

Since winning the Super Bowl, the Packers have made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game 3 different times, but they failed to advance beyond that. The latest of those trips came last season, when they lost to the 49ers.

Does Rodgers Need to Win?

In the 54-year history of the Super Bowl, only 12 QBs have won multiple championships, so Rodgers would certainly be in very good company if he did win it again. The reality, though, is that he has already established himself as one of the best QBs the league has seen, and he will almost certainly be in the Hall of Fame once his career is over. Another ring would be impressive, but it is not necessary to save his job or enhance his career.
