NFL Week 4 Betting Preview for Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Matchup

Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview: Jaguars Look For Another Upset Win

The Jaguars have surprised many by winning their first two games of the season, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts by a combined score of 62-10. As of Week 4, Jacksonville is leading the AFC South and are looking like a postseason contender.

Despite having a young roster, the Jaguars have impressed on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Jacksonville enters the league with the sixth-best offense averaging 375 yards per contest, and are seventh in points per game (28). After a slow start in his rookie season where he had more interceptions than touchdowns, Trevor Lawrence has been lighting it up with six touchdowns to just one interception. James Robinson has also been a big surprise at running back this year, with the veteran leading the team in rushing (230) and has scored a touchdown in each game thus far.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Jags come into this matchup ranked seventh in total defense, allowing 306.7 yards per contest, and are only allowing 12.7 points per game, good for fifth in the league. The unit completely frustrated the Chargers, forcing two turnovers and just 26 rushing yards last week.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview: Dominant Eagles Hope To Stay Undefeated at Home

The Eagles have had a scorching start to the 2022 NFL season, going 3-0. The Eagles just avoided defeat in Week One against a tenacious Detroit Lions squad, but they have crushed their opponents in the last two games, outscoring the Commanders and Vikings 48-15.

Jalen Hurts has taken the league by storm on the offensive side of the ball. The third-year quarterback is looking like an MVP candidate; through three weeks, he has four throwing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and a 67.3 completion %. The offense is leading the league in yards per game (447) and ranks fifth in points per game averaging 28.7.

The defense made quick work of their old buddy Carson Wentz, bringing him down to the turf six times and conceding just eight points. The Eagles rank fifth in defense, allowing just 287 yards per contest, and are among the top ten in the league in takeaways with five.

Are the Jacksonville Jaguars the truth? In their two victories thus far, they faced an old Matt Ryan and dominated an injured Justin Herbert. That isn’t to say the Jaguars haven’t been playing well, but to ask for a young team to go on the road and keep it close against one of the best all-around teams in the league, I can’t see it happening.

The Jaguars’ offensive line has held opponents to just two sacks on the year, but they will be facing an Eagles defense that is second in the league with 12 sacks. Additionally, Jalen Hurts brings a challenging dynamic as a dual-threat quarterback, and this test should prove too much for a young squad to handle.

The Eagles will dominate on both sides of the ball thanks to their powerful rushing attack and vicious defense. Lay the points and take the Eagles.

MyBookie Free Pick: Eagles -7 (-110)
