NFL 2022 Saints Win/Loss Betting Prediction for the Upcoming Season

Every team in the NFL is forced into making changes every single offseason. No hole in a roster is particularly easy to fill, but replacing a franchise QB is a monumental task that very often takes a good deal of time. That is evident when you look at the New Orleans Saints, who are still trying to fill the void left with the departure of Drew Brees. Taysom Hill was supposed to be the next guy up, but instead, it looks like we will be seeing a training camp battle between Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota for that starting spot. There is also a new coach in town and a new offensive coordinator, so we are not entirely sure what they will be bringing to the table this season, although the moves being made suggest that this version of the Saints may rely a little more heavily on the run game. The Sports Betting bookies have the win total for the Saints in 2022 set at 7 ½, let’s take a look at the schedule to see if they will fall over or under that mark so you can bet against their NFL Team Totals Odds.

Saints Regular Season

The Saints are coming off a 9-8 season, which ended a run of 3 straight double-digit win seasons. It also meant they missed out on the playoffs. They have a chance to get the season off to a fast start, as they open up on the road to the Falcons, a team that looks set to struggle this season. They follow that up with a home game versus the Buccaneers and a road trip to Carolina. I would not be surprised to see the Saints at 2-1 heading into October.

They open up October with a trip to London to face the Vikings. Those London games are always a bit of a crap shoot. They will follow that up with a pair of home games against the Seahawks and Bengals, which should be a split. The last 2 games in October are a trip to Arizona and a home tilt versus the Raiders. I have them at 5-3 at this point.

The Saints will open the month of November with a home game against the Ravens, which looks like a loss to me, followed by a winnable road game against the Steelers. A home game against the Rams looks like a loss, while a road trip to face the 49ers could go either way. They will either be 6-6 or 7-5 at the end of November.

December begins with a road trip to face the Buccaneers, after which the Saints get a bye week. It’s late in the season, but it’s also the perfect time to rest up ahead of the home stretch. The Saints then close out the season with 4 games of the winnable variety against the Falcons, Browns, Eagles, and Panthers. If there are Wild Card spots up for grabs, this might just be where they can steal one of them.

Regular Season and Beyond

My opinion on this might change based on the QB situation in New Orleans, but for the moment, I have them going over the 7 ½ win mark. I think the Saints have a legitimate shot at getting double-digit wins, which might just be enough to see them head into the postseason.
