NFL 2021 Season: San Francisco 49ers at Tennessee Betting Analysis & Odds

Playoff positioning will be a big theme surrounding Thursday night’s battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the Tennessee Titans. That being said, it’s time to check our NFL Betting analysis for the upcoming match between the 49ers and Titans.

NFL Betting Preview for San Francisco 49ers vs Tennessee Titans

49ers at Tennessee Game Analysis

The Niners will head to Nashville with an 8-6 record. They’re third in the tough NFC West, but they’re currently holding the #6 seed in the NFC playoff race.

The Tennessee Titans lead the AFC South with a 9-5 record. If the playoffs started tomorrow, the Titans would be the #3 seed.

San Francisco comes into Tennessee with a lot of momentum. They’ve won their last two games. An overtime victory over Cincinnati and an easy victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday.

The Niners also hold some momentum when facing the Titans. San Francisco has won their last two meetings. These two haven’t met since 2017, so they haven’t seen much of each other recently.

Speaking of momentum, Tennessee hasn’t had much to speak of lately. The Titans have lost three of their last four, including a shutout loss to the lowly Houston Texans.

As a matter of fact, Tennessee’s only win in that stretch came against a bad Jacksonville Jaguars squad. Not having Derrick Henry and AJ Brown has really hurt the Titans. Without some of his top weapons, Ryan Tannehill has really struggled. In their last four, Tennessee has turned the ball over 13 times.

They’ve had six interceptions and seven lost fumbles. If they struggle with turnovers against San Francisco, they’ll be in big trouble.

Here are a few things to watch out for in this one:

  • 1. Can Tennessee slow down Nick Bosa?

Bosa leads the league in tackles for loss with 18. He has been playing lights out over the past few weeks. Bosa has also caused four fumbles this year. Tennessee’s offense has been sputtering, and if Bosa can continue to wreak havoc on the opposition’s backfield, Ryan Tannehill and company will struggle on Thursday night.

  • 2. Which running back will step up for San Francisco this week?

San Francisco has had a revolving door of running backs this season. After Raheem Mostert was injured, Elijah Mitchell stepped up. When Mitchell was hurt, others stepped up.

In last week’s game, Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed for 110 yards with a touchdown. We’ll see who gets the first shot this week. Kyle Shanahan has even been putting Deebo Samuel in the backfield for a few snaps per game.

We’ll see if he gives Samuel a few more looks this week.

  • 3. Can the Titans score?

Tennessee has scored just 46 points in its last three games. As we stated before, their offense has been decimated by injuries. They’ve had numerous running backs, and they’ve also had a lot of different receivers miss time due to injuries.

With the Niners having a very good defense, we’ll see if the Titans can at least put 20 on the board this week.

Who Will Win and Why

We like the San Francisco 49ers in this one. They’re entering this one as 3.5-point favorites. Their defense has been playing well, and Jimmy Garoppolo and the offense have been getting better each week.

They may not cover the spread, but we like them to take this one and stay in the NFC playoff hunt.
