Seattle Seahawks vs New Orleans Saints Odds & Pick for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL Season

Seattle Seahawks vs New Orleans Saints Odds & Pick for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL Season

Sunday’s NFL game between the Seattle Seahawks (2-2) and the New Orleans Saints (1-3) takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. When Seattle last faced the Lions, they narrowly prevailed 48-45 in a thrilling shootout to improve to 2-2 and return to.500. With their most recent defeat against the Vikings over the weekend in England, the Saints now have a record of 1-3. It’s time to take a closer look at the upcoming match between Seahawks and Saints so you can bet against their NFL Lines.

NFL Week 5 Betting Preview for Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans

Seattle Seahawks

In their game against the Lions last Saturday, the Seahawks led 24-15 at the break and had a shootout with Detroit that ended in a 48-45 victory. Rashaad Penny contributed 17 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Geno Smith threw for 320 yards and two scores.

Seattle quarterback Geno Smith and the team recovered from a discouraging Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons to get back to .500. Smith looked masterful, finishing the game with a 132.6 passer rating with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Penny profited from the advantageous matchup by scoring on runs of 36 and 41 yards in the second half.

Seattle and Detroit played to a high-scoring afternoon that saw over 100 points and more than 1,000 yards of total offense. Although rookie cornerback Tariq Woolen recorded a pick-six and the Seahawks forced a fumble, they continue to be a problem by allowing 28.8 points per game.

New Orleans Saints

After falling to the Minnesota Vikings 28-25 in London during the NFL’s first international game of the season, the Saints will be heading back to the United States. Jameis Winston was out, so Andy Dalton started and played a solid game throwing for 236 yards and one touchdown. In the waning seconds, he gave New Orleans a chance to tie the game, but kicker Wil Lutz missed the game-tying kick.

In Sunday’s Week Four loss to the Vikings, the Saints’ defense allowed 344 yards and 28 points. They also recorded three sacks and one interception. The Saints have one of the strongest and deepest defenses in the league, and they demonstrated it on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the Saints have not lived up to the bill so far as they fell to 1-3 on the young season. Offensively, this group has disappointed, averaging just 19 points a game. They have no trouble moving the ball, but they own a league-worst 11 giveaways.

Betting Odds and Lines

The Saints have a moneyline of -235 and are 5.5-point favorites, according to Mybookie. The Seahawks are the underdogs with a +5.5 point spread and a moneyline of +194. The total number of points allowed is 45.5.

Pick – Saints -5.5 (-110)

The Saints come into this matchup favored, and they should be in a good spot to bounce back in this one. The offense did show signs of life in the close loss to the Vikings, but they coughed up what should have been a game they could have won due to penalties, turnovers, and general sloppiness.

Despite playing well, the Saints’ defense has already allowed two different running backs to gain 100 yards this year, and Justin Jefferson destroyed the secondary in their most recent game, finishing with around 150 receiving yards.

Seattle, on the other hand, has emerged as an unexpected contender as they are tied for the NFC West lead. With Geno Smith at the helm, the attack appears to be more potent than it did during Wilson’s final campaign, but the defense is obviously weak.

Even though Seattle may have scored close to 50 points on Sunday, the Saints’ defense should make it harder for them to score. New Orleans has also won the last three contests vs. the Seahawks, and I believe they bounce back for a win at home.
