Steelers vs Eagles Betting Lines & Prediction – NFL Week 8 Picks

An exciting Week Eight interleague matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles (6-0) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5) will take place on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The game will begin at 1 p.m. ET on CBS between two young star studded offenses. The Pittsburgh Steelers have given Kenny Pickett the reins at quarterback and he had his toughest test yet against the Miami Dolphins losing 16-10 on the road. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts led the Eagles to a Week Six victory over the Dallas Cowboys 16-17 to remain undefeated and atop the NFC East standings. It’s time to take a look at both teams for the upcoming matchup between Steelers and Eagles, along with their NFL Lines.

NFL Week 8 Betting Preview for Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia

Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview: Can the Steelers Cover the Spread for the Third Straight Game?

It has been an interesting year to say the least for the Steelers as the NFL hits almost the midway point in the season. After squeezing out a win in their first game, the Steelers have gone 1-5 and made a switch at quarterback from Mitch Trubiskey to first round pick Kenny Pickett.

Offensively, the Steelers score only 15.3 points a game ranking them second to last in the NFL. The Steelers have a star studded running back in Najee Harris, but the second year running back has struggled as the unit as a whole is just averaging 87.9 yards per contest. Despite upsetting the Buccaneers a few weeks ago, the offense hasn’t scored more than 20 points in six straight games.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Steelers have had their biggest struggles as they are conceding 23.1 points to opponents and almost 400 yards per game ranking them 28th in the league. In Week Seven, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ had one of their better performances of the year, limiting a strong Miami offense to 16 points. Despite this, they failed to record a sack or induce any turnovers.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview: Eagles Look to Remain Undefeated?

The Philadelphia Eagles have gotten off to a remarkable start this year as they are a perfect 6-0 and the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL. Currently, the Eagles are at the top of the NFC East standings thanks to a strong running game and MVP caliber performances from their quarterback Jalen Hurts.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles have been dominant with a running game that averages over 156 yards per contest. Miles Sanders leads the rushing attack with four touchdowns and 485 yards. Jalen Hurts has made the biggest impact offensively, throwing for over 1,500 yards, while also collecting six rushing touchdowns.

The Philadelphia defense limited Dallas to 17 points in their last contest while also making three interceptions as they improved to 6-0. The pass rush has dominated and the pass coverage has collected a league best 14 takeaways. If anything, the Eagles have struggled against the run, allowing 109.8 yards per game but they continue to be reliable.

Despite their poor performance overall, the Steelers should be competitive in this matchup. Don’t get me wrong, the Eagles are by far and away the more talented team, but I think Mike Tomlin might have a few tricks up his sleeve. The Steelers have covered the spread in back to back games and their finding more consistency on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles on the other hand have solid numbers across the board, but 10.5 points is a lot of points against an interleague team. Two of their last three contests have been played by one possession and their third game was won by nine points. I don’t think Philadelphia wants to show all of their cards just yet and I think the Steelers catch Philly off balance and surprise them with a close game.

NFL Betting Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +10.5 (-110)
