Minnesota Vikings vs Miami Dolphins Lines & Prediction for Week 6 of the 2022 Season

Minnesota Vikings vs Miami Dolphins Lines & Prediction for Week 6 of the 2022 Season

The Minnesota Vikings are 4-1 and sitting atop the NFC North. They have already beaten the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears within the division. This will be a tough road test for them on Sunday, as they’ll have to deal with the heat and humidity of Hard Rock Stadium.

After starting off the season 3-0, including a huge win against the Buffalo Bills, everyone was jumping on the Miami Dolphins bandwagon.

That was before the Tua Tagovailoa injury. Now that the Dolphins have lost two straight, things aren’t looking as good on South Beach.

Let’s preview the Minnesota Vikings at Miami Dolphins matchup, and then we’ll give you our NFL Betting prediction.

A Key Matchup in Miami | NFL Week 6 Betting Preview for Minnesota Vikings at Miami

Minnesota Vikings

The much-maligned Kirk Cousins has had a nice start to the season. Cousins has thrown for over 1300 yards with seven touchdown passes on the season.

When healthy, Dalvin Cook has been a force on the ground. Cook has 373 yards on the ground this season. Justin Jefferson could be the most talented wide receiver in the game. He has 40 catches, good for 547 yards and two touchdowns.

As a whole, the Minnesota Vikings‘ defense has been very good this season. The Vikings have been very good at stopping the run and haven’t given up a ton of points.

However, the Vikings have been very soft in pass coverage, so that has been the downfall of the defense. We’ll see how they match up with the potent Miami receivers.

Miami Dolphins

After the first three weeks of the season, many were saying that the Dolphins were one of the top teams in football. That has all changed in the past couple of weeks.

With all of the controversy surrounding Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion issues, the Dolphins have hit a rough patch. With a loss to Cincinnati and then a blowout loss to the New York Jets, the Dolphins are in a tough spot right now.

Tagovailoa was throwing at practice on Wednesday, but we’re not sure what his status will be for Sunday’s game. If he can’t go, we’re not sure if Teddy Bridgewater, who left last week’s game with a concussion, will be cleared to play or if we’ll see Skylar Thompson under center.

Raheem Mostert has taken over as the lead back in Miami. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle could possibly be the best receiving duo in the league. They’ve combined for nearly 930 receiving yards with three touchdowns.

Defensively, the Dolphins have been without a key piece of their secondary throughout the season. Cornerback Byron Jones is eligible to play this weekend. Xavien Howard has also missed some time as well.

When those two are on the football field, the Dolphins have one of the better defenses in football. Miami managed to give up a ton of yardage through the air this season, but a lot of that was from battling Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson in shootouts.

Predictions

The Minnesota Vikings are 3.5-point favorites in this big showdown. While we don’t know the status of Tua Tagovailoa, we have a hard time going with Miami to win. We think the Vikings head south and win by a field goal. Miami gets the sneaky cover.
