NFL Week 18 Odds & Betting Predictions: Loser Picks for this Week

NFL Week 18 Odds & Betting Predictions: Loser Picks for this Week

The final week of the 2022 regular season is approaching, and as we anticipate the Week 18 slate, there is still a lot to be decided. Several clubs are on course to lose the season’s final game, according to the early odds and lines posted on Mybookie. It will be a week with crucial playoff implications on the line, while other teams are eagerly anticipating the NFL draft. Let’s look at three key games in Week 18 that we believe will end in defeat so you can bet against their NFL Lines.

Who Are the Sure Losers in Week 18 of NFL Action?

New York Jets (+3.5) vs Miami Dolphins

Let’s start with the New York Jets (7-9), who hit the road to take on the Miami Dolphins (8-8) on Sunday afternoon. The Jets are no longer in the playoff hunt after taking a loss to the Seahawks in their last matchup 23-6. New York has completely fallen apart; they have lost five straight contests while failing to cover the spread in four of those games. The Jets combined for nine points over their last two games, and their offense has gotten major scrutiny under OC Mike LaFleur.

While the Dolphins have had their own little collapse as of late, first-year head coach Mike McDaniel will surely bring out all of the stops to record a victory in this one. Unfortunately, he’ll have to do it with his third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson. Nevertheless, Thompson was serviceable last week, throwing a touchdown, and Miami will have the benefit of playing at home, where they have had a distinct advantage this year, going 18-8 ATS over their last 26 contests.

Tennessee Titans (+7) vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Lock in the Tennessee Titans (7-9) as sure losers in week 18. Tennessee has been arguably the most disappointing team this year after starting 7-3. After a 7-1 run in the middle of the season, the Titans have lost six straight matchups while failing to cover the spread in each of those contests. To make matters worse, starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been placed on IR officially, and Tennessee will have to win with either Johsua Dobbs or rookie Malik Willis, both of whom have looked disastrous up to this point.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (8-8), on the other hand, have been one of the pleasant surprises of the year as Doug Pederson has this group fighting for a playoff spot after the Jaguars finished with the worst record in two straight seasons. Jacksonville has won four straight contests, including covering the spread in each of those games. Trevor Lawrence and the offense has also taken off, averaging 31.5 points over their last four contests. Expect the Jaguars to walk away with the AFC South title in Week 18.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+8) vs Atlanta Falcons

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8) make the list this week after taking home the NFC South crown with a win over the Carolina Panthers 30-24. With this in mind, the Atlanta Falcons are now the favorites, with the Bucs likely to rest their starter for this matchup. Tampa Bay barely took care of their NFC South foes with their starters; we can’t imagine their backup being miraculously better, making them prime candidates to drop their last game of the year.

The Atlanta Falcons (6-10) on the other hand, are still playing at full strength and will be evaluating their talent moving forward. As a result, they have nothing to lose in this game, and we expect the Falcons to come out firing. With a record of 1-7 on the road, the Falcons play much better at home, where they are 5-3 on the year. The Bucs have covered the spread just once in their last six contests and only once over their last ten games. Tampa Bay should walk away losers in this one.
