Revised 2016 NHL Championshop Odds

Pittsburgh Penguins (+375)

Back in the early part of the season, the Penguins were struggling, and no-one thought they were even a playoff team, let alone a potential champion. Things have changed, though, especially on offense where this team is firing on all cylinders. They blow out the Rangers in Round 1, and have stolen home ice advantage from the Washington Capitals in Round 2.

San Jose Sharks (+375)

Another team that has come out of nowhere to establish themselves as one of the favorites to win it all. The Sharks knocked off the LA Kings in the opening round in what has to be considered a bit of a surprise. With a 2-0 lead on the Predators already in Round 2, the Sharks look like a good bet to move on to the Western Conference Final.

Washington Capitals (+400)

After easily winning the President’s Trophy in the regular season, the Capitals are finding things a little tougher in the playoff. They fought off a spirited Philadelphia Flyers team in the opening round, but have now lost home ice advantage to the Penguins in Round 2 after splitting the first two games of the series.

Dallas Stars (+425)

The Stars opened up their playoff campaign with a win over the Minnesota Wild in 6 games. They are in a bit of trouble in Round 2 after splitting the first 2 homes games of the Round 2 series against the St. Louis Blues. That is a series that looks destined for 7 games, though, so no time to panic yet.

St. Louis Blues (+425)

There are a lot of NHL fans who would have loved to have seen the Stars and the Blues face off in the Western Conference Final, but it was not meant to be. The Blues took out the reigning champion Chicago Blackhawks in 7 games in Round 1, and have gained a very valuable split on the road in their Round 2 series versus the Stars.

Tampa Bay Lightning (+900)

The Bolts came into the playoffs pretty banged up, which made their 5-game win over the Red Wings in the opening round all the more impressive. It’ll be interesting to see how they hold up moving forward, and they are already in trouble having split their 2 home games versus the Islanders in Round 2.

New York Islanders (+1100)

The Islanders put in a surprise performance in Round 1 to knock off the Florida Panthers in 6 games, and have got their Round 2 series off to a great start by stealing home ice advantage from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Nashville Predators (+3000)

The biggest surprise of the opening round saw the Predators come back from 3-2 down in the series to beat the Anaheim Ducks in 7 games. They look to be in real trouble versus the Sharks, though, as they are already 2-0 down in the Round 2 series.
