Phillies vs Astros Odds & Prediction for Game 6 – MLB World Series Lines

Written by on November 4, 2022

The Philadelphia Phillies have their backs against the wall as they are heading back to Minute Maid Park with a 3-2 World Series disadvantage against the Houston Astros.

They will play Game 6 on Saturday night, as it will be right-hander Zach Wheeler on the mound for the Phillies and southpaw Framber Valdez pitching for the Astros. Let’s take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to Game 6 so you can bet against their World Series Odds.

MLB World Series Game 6 Betting Preview: Philly versus Stros

Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are trying to step up with their season on the line in hostile territory on Saturday. The offense has been faltering as of late, as they have scored two runs in their last two games and need to get their bats alive once again. They are hitting just .174 as a team during the World Series and need some more offense to force a Game 7.

The Phillies are going to be sending Zach Wheeler to the mound for this game, and he is 1-2 with a 2.67 ERA throughout the postseason, and this will be his sixth game of their playoff run.

He pitched in Game 2 of the World Series back on Saturday of last week and was the losing pitcher as he managed to throw five innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts in that outing.

Houston Astros

The Astros did exactly what they needed to and forced this series back to Houston with momentum, as a win here means another World Series Championship.

They had averaged 2.7 runs in their three games at Citizens Bank Park, and they have a .671 team OPS in the World Series and need to continue to have timely hitting if they want to wrap this series up on Saturday.

Framber Valdez will be on the hill for them in this Game 6 and is looking to build off his impressive postseason thus far. He is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA making his fifth start of the run.

Valdez picked up the win in Game 2 of this series when he pitched 6.1 innings and gave up a run on four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. He needs to continue his impressive performances if they want to avoid a winner takes all scenario.

What Are the Odds?

According to MyBookie Sportsbook, the Phillies enter this game as the underdog as they are currently +120 on the moneyline, while the Astros are a home favorite, currently sitting at -147.

The total is sitting at seven runs in this game, with the under being slightly favored at -115 compared to the over at -105 odds.

Who’s Going to Win?

This is a tough series to predict, but with Philadelphia being prepared to throw all their pitchers with their backs against the wall and having the travel day to get some arms prepared to pitch, I think they have some value at +120 here.

Their bullpen has been holding up and should be able to hit one more game and force a Game 7.
