Why the Boston Red Sox are a good bet on the moneyline?

Red Sox manager Alex Cora had hoped Nathan Eovaldi could start Game 4. Because the Dodgers beat Boston in the bottom of the 18th inning, Eovaldi ended up pitching 7 innings and throwing close to 100 pitches in Game 3. We won’t see Nathan Eovaldi in Game 4. We might see Chris Sale off short rest or Drew Pomeranz. Sale should have his best stuff because he only threw 5 innings in Game 1. Pomeranz has started plenty of games. Both are good enough to give Boston the Game 4 win.

Why the L.A. Dodgers are a good bet on the moneyline?

Rich Hill might have been Los Angeles’ most consistent starter during the regular season. He ended up winning 11 games, losing only 5, and posting a 3.66 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. Hill should especially throw well on Saturday because he battles the Red Sox at Dodger Stadium. Hill’s a veteran starter who has a lot of innings on his tires. He could be the perfect pitcher for the Dodgers send to the mound in World Series Game 4.

Boston Red Sox at L.A. Dodgers World Series Game 4 Final Analysis

On paper, Los Angeles appears to have the edge because they didn’t use up their bullpen the way that Boston did in Game 3. However, Boston got 7 solid innings from pitcher Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi’s charged with the Game 3 loss, but what he did to keep Boston in the game is nothing short of miraculous. The Red Sox extended the game so long and Nathan Eovaldi threw so many innings that by the time the battle ended, after 3:30 am on the east coast, both Boston manager Alex Cora and L.A. manager Dave Roberts were even. Boston might actually have an edge at the plate because many Red Sox starters, like Martinez, Moreland, and Devers, left the game early while most of the Dodgers’ batters stayed in the game until the 18th. With that edge, and having not used up his bullpen as much as many thought he would, Alex Cora could use both Pomeranz and Sale to win Game 4. Boston’s the team to back. World Series Game 4 Pick: Boston Red Sox moneyline Note:  Dodgers might lean on Clayton Kershaw in Game 4. If Kershaw is the starter, my pick doesn’t change.
