NRL Odds & Picks – Round 14 Betting Preview

Written by on August 13, 2020

With the 2020 AFL season heating up in a big way as we inch closer toward the completion of its 20-week regular season schedule, it’s time to take a look at who’s in action in Round 14 and which teams are offering the best value against their value-packed NRL odds. With that thought in mind, I’ve got a trio of Round 14 matchups firmly in the bullseye, so let’s get started.

NRL Betting Round 14 Events Preview – Odds and Picks

St. George Illawarra Dragons (4-0-9) vs. Parramatta Eels (11-0-2)

The Eels are in third place in the NRL standings with 286 points scored and a league-low 162 points allowed. The Dragons are sitting in 12th place in the standings with 248 points scored and 278 points allowed. Parramatta has won three straight low-scoring affairs including a hard-fought 14-12 road win over the Sharks on Sunday while the Dragons have dropped three in a row including a 24-16 home loss against the two-time defending champion Roosters on Sunday. Point blank…I’ll be completely stunned if the Dragons score more than 16 points in this one. Parramatta wins and they win big to cover the double-digit chalk.

  • Pick: Eels 32 Dragons 12
  • When: Friday, August 14 at 4:55 AM
  • Where: Central Coast Stadium, Central Coast

NRL Odds

Gold Coast Titans (4-0-9) vs. Cronulla Sharks (7-0-6)

The Sharks are in eighth place in the standings with 332 points scored and 288 points allowed. Cronulla had their three-game winning streak snapped in their narrow 14-12 home loss against the Eels on Sunday. The Titans are languishing in 13th place in the 16-team standings with just 184 points scored and a whopping 337 points allowed. Gold Coast snapped a three-game skid by overwhelming the Cowboys 30-10 at home on Saturday.

Despite their big win last weekend, Gold Coast is facing a serious uphill battle in trying to take down a clearly superior Sharks squad in this one. More importantly, Cronulla needs a victory in this contest in order to remain inside the Top 8 and I believe they’ll get it while covering the 8.5-point spread seeing as how two of their last three wins and five of six, have come by at least 10 points.

  • Pick: Sharks 30 Titans 18
  • When: Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 12:00 AM
  • Where: Bankwest Stadium, Sydney

NRL Odds

Broncos (3-0-10) vs. Raiders (8-0-5)

The Raiders are in fifth place in the standings with 232 points scored and 205 points allowed. Canberra had their three-game winning streak snapped in their 28-12 road loss against second place Penrith on Saturday. The Broncos are sitting in 15th place in the standings with 178 points scored and a league-high 401 points allowed defensively. Brisbane has lost four straight including a 28-10 smackdown road loss against the Rabbitohs on Friday. With the Raiders being the far better team in this clash and surely being motivated after their humbling loss last weekend, Canberra is the super easy pick to win and cash in as a SU moneyline pick. Hell, I like the Raiders to cover the big, 18.5-point spread as well seeing as how the Broncos have suffered four straight double-digit losses with two of those defeats coming by at least 42 points!

  • Pick: Raiders 30 Broncos 10
  • When: Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 4:35 AM
  • Where: Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville
