Top 2022 Rugby Matches to Bet On: NRL Week 16, Super League, and International Games

Top 2022 Rugby Matches to Bet On: NRL Week 16, Super League, and International Games

North America’s Major League Rugby has wrapped up its season with Rugby New York, finally ending a couple of years of heartbreak and winning the shield with a 30-15 victory over the Seattle Seawolves.

The NRL is back in action after a bye last weekend, and teams are fresh as somebody tries to challenge the Penrith Panthers for the premiership. Super League and Top 14 are both tighter at the top of the ladder than the NRL so let’s check out some of the bigger games of the week across the rugby landscape. Let’s jump right into action so you can get all set to make your bets against the Rugby Odds.

Weekly Rundown of the Top Rugby Games to Must Bet On

Manly vs Melbourne (-8.5) NRL Thursday 5:50 AM ET

The Storm are just -8.5 favorites even though they have their star Ryan Papenhuyzen back from leg injuries and have won six straight and 10 of the last 12 against Manly. This looks like one of the better wagers of the weekend.

Penrith (-15.5) vs Sydney NRL Friday 5:55 AM ET

The Panthers look nearly untouchable atop the NRL ladder as they are 14-1 on the season. Having them slip up one of these rounds would make things more interesting for 11-3 Melbourne or 11-4 North Queensland, but can Sydney deliver the upset on the road? Likely not.

NRL Futures

Oddsmakers still have this as basically a two-team race, with Penrith the odds-on favorite to be the 2022 champion at +140. The Panthers have suffered just one loss this season, tripping up 22-20 against Parramatta.

Melbourne is a much more dangerous team with Papenhuyzen back healthy, and they have some value at +225. North Queensland is the next highest-ranked team way back at +1000.

Castleford vs Huddersfield (-1.5) Super League Friday 3:00 PM ET

We’ve got a top 6 matchup in the Super League when #6 Castleford faces #3 Huddersfield. The Giants are road favorites here and won this matchup 36-24 back in March. Huddersfield has also won four of their last six, so they have momentum going.

Catalans vs St. Helens (-1.5) Super League Saturday 12:00 PM ET

St. Helens is atop the Super League table at 14-2, so they’ll be getting a lot of betting action as just -1.5 favorites this weekend. Then again, Catalans have a good squad as the reigning League Leaders Shield holders and #4 in the table at 11-5. St. Helen’s won this Grand Final rematch 28-8 back in February.

New Zealand (-435) vs Ireland (+310) International Saturday 3:05 AM ET

Ireland is #4 in the world rankings, and they start a tour of New Zealand against the home team, who is ranked #3 internationally. Ireland will play the Maori All Blacks on Wednesday, so that is a very quick turnaround, part of the reason the Irish are such big underdogs.

South Africa (-1667) vs Wales (+900) International Saturday 11:05 AM ET

The #1 ranked rugby team in the world looks like they’ll cruise to victory this week against Wales. Even South Africa to win by 13+ points has -265 odds, so this one should be an easy victory.
