Best Rugby Odds for this Week: Rugby League World Cup Final, and International Must Bet Games

November is prime time for betting on rugby, with both rugby league and rugby union having some good betting to be had this coming weekend.

In rugby league, Australia and Samoa meet in a historic Rugby League World Cup final. The Aussies are heavily favored, but Samoa is coming in fresh off an upset win and has healthy odds to do the same again this Saturday against Australia.

Rugby union sees a plethora of matches unfold, with the Southern Hemisphere teams rounding out their Northern Hemisphere tours this weekend. We break down the best of these matches below and look at the Rugby Betting Odds ahead of each matchup.

Rugby League World Cup Final (Saturday, 19 November)

Last weekend, World Cup favorites Australia successfully navigated a stern challenge by New Zealand, clearing their semifinal 16-14.

England, however, was not so fortunate, being downed 27-26 by a valiant Samoan side. The win puts the Pacific Island nation through to their first-ever Rugby League World Cup final, where they are heavy underdogs against an Australian team that has won the title 11 times prior.

However, with nothing to lose and huge amounts of support from neutral fans, expect Samoa to put up a good fight here. At +640, they are a lucrative bet if they win, but Australia’s -1204 speaks for itself that such a result would be a serious upset.

International Rugby Matches (Saturday/Sunday, 19-20 November)

A stacked calendar of rugby union awaits this weekend, with six matches, in particular, to take note of:

  • Italy vs. South Africa (Saturday, 19 November at 9:00 AM ET)
  • Wales vs. Georgia (Saturday, 19 November at 9:00 AM ET)
  • Scotland vs. Argentina (Saturday, 19 November at 11:15 AM ET)
  • England vs. New Zealand (Saturday, 19 November at 1:30 PM ET)
  • Ireland vs. Australia (Saturday, 19 November at 4:00 PM ET)
  • France vs. Japan (Sunday, 20 November at 9:00 AM ET)

Of these, the tightest will be England vs. New Zealand and Scotland vs. Argentina.

England vs New Zealand (Saturday, 19 November at 1:30 PM ET)

After a fractious 2022, New Zealand would dearly love to finish their season on a high with a win over England in Twickenham. The usually invincible All Blacks have been far from it this year, with four losses so far, including three at home to Ireland and Argentina. England, on the other hand, hasn’t been at their best either, losing to Argentina as well on their own turf a fortnight ago.

New Zealand is a -143 favorite to come away with the win, while England pays +120.

Scotland vs Argentina (Saturday, 19 November at 11:15 AM ET)

This match sees a rematch of the July series between Scotland and Argentina, where Argentina won the series 2-1 with a dying effort in the third match.

Now, playing on home soil, Scotland will be desperate to make amends. They are -167 favorites to do so but would be punching above their weight, with Argentina having recently risen to No.6 in the world.

A bet on Argentina to win at +135 wouldn’t be a bad idea here.
