Top 2022 MLS Odds: Three Matches to Must Bet On the Weekend

The MLS All-Star game is over after Wednesday night’s classic in Minnesota. With the summer transfer window also closed, the teams can full turn their attention to finishing strong in the regular season and qualifying for the MLS Cup Playoffs.

After a busy stretch of playing three games in two weeks for most teams, they have now enjoyed a week off with the All-Star break. Every team has between nine and 11 games left in the regular season. This week doesn’t have a bunch of high profile games as the top teams are facing teams outside of the playoff picture.

However there are still three games that will impact the playoff spots for both teams. In the West, fourth-place Minnesota United faces sixth-place Nashville SC and fifth-place Real Salt Lake plays eighth-place Seattle Sounders. In the East, conference leaders Philadelphia Union host a surging seventh-place Chicago Fire. Let’s have a look at the top upcoming games for the weekend so you can bet against their MLS Odds.

Top 2022 Major League Soccer Betting Games for Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 14th

United, Nashville Look to Rebound

After hosting the MLS All-Star festivities this week, Minnesota United heads to Nashville for a nationally televised Sunday night showdown. Both teams lost 4-3 last weekend, MUNFC at Colorado Rapids and Nashville against Toronto FC. These teams drew 1-1 in Minnesota in March and both of their all-time matchups have ended in draws.

The loss for Minnesota last weekend snapped a season-best seven-game unbeaten streak. They are two points ahead of Nashville and only four points separate third place from eighth place in the West.

Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar ranks third in the league with 13 goals and also leads the team in assists. Minnesota had to play in Colorado without suspended starters Robin Lod, Emanuel Reynoso and Michael Boxall, all will be available this weekend. Reynolso leads the team with nine goals while Luis Amarilla has eight.

At MyBookie, Nashville SC is the home favorite at -107. Minnesota United is +275 to win on the road and draw is +255. Over 2.5 goals is -120 and under 2.5 goals is -105.

Seattle Charging to the End Line

This has been a bizarre season for the Seattle Sounders with a CONCACAF Champions League title but an injury-ravaged regular season. They are one point outside of the playoffs but have played less games than three teams in front of them and a win this weekend could get them as high as fourth.

Meanwhile, Real Salt Lake have lost three of the last five to slide down into fifth place, just two points ahead of the Sounders. They beat Seattle at home 1-0 in March and knocked the Sounders out of the 2021 playoffs with a penalty kick win on the road.

Seattle has won two straight at home overall and four straight regular season home wins against RSL. At MyBookie, Seattle is a home favorite at -105 with RSL at +270 and a draw is +245. Over 2.5 goals is -125 and under 2.5 goals is -105

Union Seek Revenge on Chicago

The Philadelphia Union were stunned last weekend with a 3-1 loss on the road to FC Cincinnati. The loss ended a six-match unbeaten streak for the Eastern Conference leaders, and marked the first time since last season they gave up more than two goals in a game.

Meanwhile the upstart Chicago Fire are now on a streak of their own with five straight unbeaten after knocking off Charlotte FC last Saturday. Xherdan Shaqiri has been a game changer, scoring and distributing to the likes of Kacper Przybylko, Chris Mueller and Jhon Duran.

The Fire will have their hands full with a Union defense that has allowed just 18 goals all season. All-star goalkeeper Andre Blake has played every single minute this season and leads a defense where three of the four players have started at least 21 of 24 games.

Chicago won at home against Philadelphia 1-0 in June but the road team has just two wins in the last 19 games between these teams. Now the Union have the chance to get revenge on one of the three teams to beat them this season.

At MyBookie, the Union are a big home favorite at -153 while the Fire are +390 to sweep the season series. A draw is +285, over 2.5 goals is -147 and under 2.5 goals is +111
