Top 2021 MLS Matches to Bet On: Seattle Visits Colorado and Wants Revenge

The games are coming fast and furious in Major League soccer with most teams having just five games left in the regular season. A vast majority of the playoff spots in both conferences have yet to be determined, making the games scheduled for Wednesday vital for almost every team involved. Let’s take a closer look at some of Wednesday’s MLS games that are worth checking out and betting against their MLS odds.

Top MLS Games to Watch and Wager On the Week (Oct. 20th)

Atlanta United FC vs New York City FC

Both teams are very much in the playoff race, but neither has much margin for error. Following their loss to the rival Red Bulls on Sunday, NYCFC has literally gone four straight games without scoring a goal. The Pigeons are also winless in their last five matches, taking them out of a playoff position. On the contrary, Atlanta has become one of the hottest teams in MLS, winning five of their last seven matches and climbing all of the way to fifth in the Eastern Conference.

DC United vs New England Revolution

DC is in the middle of a tight race for the final three playoff spots with five teams within two points of each other. The good news is that they are currently in a playoff position and favored with a +105 Moneyline on Wednesday. However, they’ll be facing the best team in the league, as the Revolution has 20 wins and six draws in 30 matches. Of course, New England’s Moneyline is +215 because the Revs are on the road and have the option of rotating their squad late in the season.

Orlando City SC vs CF Montreal

Neither team has secured a playoff spot, so both will look at this as a must-win game. At home, Orlando City is favored with a -112 Moneyline, as the Floridians have a little bit of a cushion in the playoff race whereas Montreal has a Moneyline of +265 and could easily fall out of the playoff picture with a loss. Montreal was able to steal a point with a late goal against Philadelphia over the weekend, giving them four points from their last two matches and some much-needed momentum. But Orlando has won two in a row and could climb as high as a second place if they can keep it going.

Nashville SC vs Columbus Crew

The Crew is starting to run out of time and facing a +380 Moneyline on Wednesday on the road against second-place Nashville, which is favored at -158. That being said, Gyasi Zardes is one of the hottest strikers in the league and scored two more goals against Inter Miami over the weekend. But Columbus is four points out of a playoff spot and facing a Nashville team that has conceded the second-fewest goals this season and kept back-to-back clean sheets.

Colorado Rapids vs Seattle Sounders FC

This match could be a playoff preview, but it’s also important for deciding the top seed in the Western Conference. Seattle is currently atop the Western Conference standings but still just six points ahead of the Rapids. The Rapids are slight home favorites for this match at +112 with Seattle’s Moneyline at +210. Of course, these teams met a few weeks ago with the Sounders winning 3-0. Seattle is also coming off a loss over the weekend, falling 2-1 against Houston. But with a few extra days to get all of their international players back in the fold, the Sounders and the league’s best defense have a chance to get back on track, albeit in a tricky road game.
