2022 MLB SU Week 18 Betting Picks: Best Weekend Games to Wager On

There are roughly 40 games left in the 2022 MLB regular season, and although there isn’t much of a fight left in the AL East, AL West, or NL West, that still leaves three divisions neck and neck.

Seven teams are battling it out for three wild card spots in the AL, while three teams are fighting for the final two spots in the N.L. This weekend we’ve got what could easily be a World Series preview when the Astros visit Atlanta, a potential AL Central-changing battle with the White Sox traveling to Cleveland, and Toronto’s last chance to make a rally in the AL East with a four-game set at the Yankees.

Let’s check out some of the best MLB bets for individual games this weekend so you can place your bets against their MLB Lines.

Red Sox at Orioles, Friday 7:05 PM ET

We’ve been waiting for the 61-57 Orioles to falter all year, yet they are still just 2.5 games out of the final wild card slot. There are signs that it could be the beginning of the end, though, as Baltimore has dropped five of their last eight and have been held to two runs or less in four of their last six.

Boston has won five of their last seven, and just five games back from the final wild-card spot, it’s time for them to have a big weekend.

Royals at Rays, Friday 7:10 PM ET

Tampa Bay nearly swept the Yankees this week if not for a Josh Donaldson walk-off grand slam in the series finale on Wednesday. Despite that emotional loss, the Rays bounced back for a 7-1 win over the Royals in Thursday’s series opener.

Brady Singer is a tough matchup for K.C. with a 1.67 ERA over his last five starts, but Rays starter Shane McClanahan has only allowed more than two ER twice in the past three months.

Blue Jays at Yankees, Saturday 1:05 PM ET

Toronto did pick up a 9-2 win in this series opener following a 6-1 victory over Baltimore on Wednesday, but those seem like offensive anomalies lately. The Blue Jays had been held to three runs or less in seven of their previous nine games, a trend Gerrit Cole should help to continue coming off 7.0 IP of shutout ball against Seattle in his last start.

Nationals at Padres, Saturday 8:40 PM ET

Oddsmakers should take into account Joe Musgrove’s less-than-stellar performance lately when releasing this price. He hasn’t gotten a win since June but should be able to dominate the worst team in the majors on Saturday.

White Sox at Guardians, Sunday 12:05 PM ET

Dylan Cease gave up 3ER over 5.0 IP in his last start against Houston – and that is considered an absolutely atrocious start for him. Cease had a 0.33 ERA in June and 0.76 in July and has a 2.14 ERA in three starts vs. Cleveland this season.
