We all know the king of clay is back, and we are looking forward to welcoming him to Grand Slam action. Rafael Nadal remains the favorite to win in France as no one comes close to him.

On the women’s side, it is a bit different as some of the veterans would be missing the action in France, and we would be enjoying actions from different youngsters. Roland Garros is undoubtedly shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the year. In that case, let’s look at the top five odds going into the competition for both men and women categories so you can continue making your bets against the French Open Odds

Odds to Win the First Round of the 2022 French Open Tournament

Top Five Odds to Win the Men’s Singles Event

It’s not surprising as Rafael Nadal leads the race as the favorite to win the Roland Garros because the 35-year-old has won the competition 13 times, completely dominating the event. As things stand, here are the first round odds to win the French Open for the Men’s event.

  • Rafael Nadal +175

No one comes close to Nadal on clay, and the French Open is his playground. Since 2005, he has won 13 titles at the Roland Garros, and during that time, only three players have managed to win the title. Out of the four times, Nadal didn’t win it since 2005, one of them was because he withdrew in the 3rd round because of an injury.

After showing class at the Australian Open, Nadal is on form and can easily take his 22nd Grand Slam title at the 2022 French Open.

  • Carlos Alcaraz Garfia +200

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a budding youngster that has shown resilience and the drive to be one of the greatest tennis players. Although he hasn’t won any major titles yet, he showed his capabilities at the 2021 US Open where he go to the quarterfinals. As a result, he is currently the second favorite behind Nadal.

  • Novak Djokovic +300

Djokovic hasn’t had a good year after the Australian Open issue. As a result, the US Open is his chance to make an impact and show why he’s world number one. Therefore, he is the third favorite to win the competition in France. And he is the defending champion after claiming the title against Tsitsipas in 2021.

  • Stefanos Tsitsipas +550

The 23-year-old star is another exciting player to watch. Although he is yet to win a grand slam, getting to his first shows he’s ready to fight. Therefore, World No. 5 is certainly a favorite to win in France.

  • Alexander Zverev +1,400

Zverev is currently World Number 3, and after a disappointing run in the Australian Open, he is ready to go all the way. He was close last year, and we might see him get closer this year.

Top Five Odds to Win the Women’s Singles Event

The Women’s event has some exciting new names to the fray, and we are looking forward to seeing an exciting showdown. The 2020 French Open champion, Iga Swiatek remains the favorite to win this year’s event.

  • Iga Swiatek +160

The world’s no. 1 player in the WTA ranking is the favorite to win the event. Even though she’s only 20, she has done a lot in the tennis world with one Roland Garros to her name. Although she didn’t defend her title well in 2021, she remains the bookmaker’s favorite for this year.

  • Simona Halep +700

Since late 2020, she has been struggling with injuries, and after falling in the Australian Open quarterfinals to Alize Cornet, she is surprisingly oddsmakers’ second favorite player to win the event.

  • Paula Badosa Gibert +1,200

Paula Badosa is another name high up the list as a favorite to win the event. She’s currently the world number three, and she would want to do better than last year’s quarterfinal outing.

  • Barbora Krejcikova +1,300

Krejcikova won the 2021 Roland Garros event and would be defending her title in this year’s event. Therefore, it is only fair to have her high up the favorite list, and she sure has a shot at winning back-to-back titles.

  • Ons Jabeur +1,400

Coming in at number five is Ons Jabeur, the world’s No. 7 in the WTA rankings after winning the Mutua Madrid Open. Although Jabeur hasn’t won any Grand Slam titles, she is the 5th favorite to win on clay this year.
