UFC 272: Covington vs Masvidal Betting Odds & Predictions

It seems like it’s been a minute since the last big event on the UFC calendar, so I’m sure we are all a little excited about UFC 272, which is set to go this Saturday. The main card is home to 5 fights, with the action set to kick off at 6 PM EST. What may seem a little odd for a numbered event in the UFC is that we don’t have a title bout at the top of the card, but there are still 5 very good fights to look forward to in this one. That includes the headline bout on the main card, which looks to be an absolute beauty. We are going to take a closer look at that one, as well as the 4 other fights below it, with UFC odds and predictions included.

UFC 272: Covington vs Masvidal Odds & Analysis | MMA Betting Preview

Sergey Spivak (-200) Vs Greg Hardy (+160)

The main card gets underway with a Heavyweight bout that seems unlikely to make it all the way to the end of the 3 rounds. Spivak comes in with a very respectable 13-3 record, but he is coming off a loss last time out after winning 3 in a row. Since giving up the NFL for the UFC, Gregg Hardy has had his ups and downs, going 7-4, but he comes into this one on the heals of back-to-back losses. I’m taking Spivak to get the win by KO.

Kevin Holland (-340) Vs Alex Oliveira (+265)

This is a strange one in that it features a pair of very good Featherweight fighters, both of whom are going through a rough patch. Holland is 21-7 overall, but he has failed to pick up a win in his last 3, losing 2 and tying the other. It has been similarly dire for Oliveira, as he comes into this bout on a 3-fight losing skid that includes a couple of opening round losses. A tough one here, but I think Holland gets the job done quickly via KO.

Edson Barboza (+135) Vs Bryce Mitchell (-165)

We have another Featherweight bout up next, with a seasoned veteran set to duke it out with a great up and coming fighter. Barboza has seemingly been around forever, positing a 22-10 record, and while he is still top 10, he has lost 3 of his last 5. Mitchell comes into this one with a perfect 14-0 record, but this might well be his toughest test yet. I think we see this one go all the way, with Mitchell edging it.

Rafael dos Anjos (-180) Vs Renato Moicano (+150)

The co-main event of the night is a Lightweight bout featuring a couple of guys who have been around for a while. Dos Anjos is 30-13 overall, but he has not seen a lot of success of late, losing 3 of his last 5 fights. Moicano also had a little bit of a blip, but he seems to be getting back to winning ways after picking up the W in each of his last 2 fights. I think this one goes all the way, with dos Anjos getting the decision.

Colby Covington (-310) Vs Jorge Masvidal (+230)

The headline event of the night looks like an absolute beauty and is one that is well worth waiting for. Seeing that Covington has lost 2 of his last 3 might bring some cause for concern, but both were title fights against Usman, where he more than held his own. It has been the same story for Masvidal, who has lost 2 in a row, both to Usman. This looks like a fantastic fight and I have Covington taking it by decision.
