It has been a strange kind of start to the new NFL season, with surprise results and stunning comebacks seeming to be the order of the day. We are seeing a couple of the early Super Bowl favorites very much look the part, while also waiting for some of the better teams in the league to get into a groove. We have also seen a couple of teams emerge who started the season in dark horse territory now looking like legit championship challengers. One of those teams is the Philadelphia Eagles, who have looked very impressive through the opening 2 weeks of the season. It’s a great start for the Eagles, but this trip to Washington represents maybe a tougher challenge in that they are playing a team we all expect them to beat quite handily. Will they drop down to the Commanders level or keep cruising? The Eagles are in as a 6 ½ point road favorite, with the point total set at 47. With all that in mind, let’s take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this matchup so you can bet against their NFL Lines.

Why bet on the Philadelphia Eagles
There were quite a few people who were very much on the fence about Jalen Hurts being an elite starting QB. It is still very early in the season, but the talk has already started that Hurts might be in the MVP conversation this year. I would still be reserving judgement on that, as 2 good games does not a season make. The Eagles needed a great showing from Hurts in Week 1 to get past a very tough Lions team before comfortably beating the Vikings on Monday night. As good as it is for them to be 2-0, they have not been the best bet against the spread, going just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. They are also just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 versus divisional opponents. The Eagles have won 5 of their last 7 road games and have seen the UNDER hit in 4 of their last 6 September outings.
Why bet on the Washington Commanders
The season started with some promise for the Commanders, as they came out in Week 1 and got the win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a short-lived celebration, though, as they came up short against the Detroit Lions last weekend. The schedule is about to get a whole lot tougher now, and even playing at home might not help the Commanders against a high-flying Eagles team. Even with the early win on the season, the Commanders are still just 2-5 SU in their last 7 games overall and 1-5 SU in their last 6 conference matchups. September has not been a good month for Washington against the spread, as they are 1-6 ATS in their last 7. In home games, the Commanders have seen 5 of their last 6 fall UNDER the point total.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
This is potentially a banana peel game for the Eagles, but I think they look strong and confident, and I believe they will handle the Commanders quite easily. I am taking Philly to win and cover, and I also like the OVER.
