Best NFL Week 8 Odds & Picks: Teams to Most Likely Lose their Game

Written by on October 25, 2022

After Week Seven is over, we move on to Week Eight. Today, we’ll take a closer look at a few games to help you decide which teams to root for this weekend and which ones to avoid. Let’s get started with an intriguing slate, so you don’t miss your chance to wager against the NFL Odds.

Who Are the Sure Losers in Week 8 of NFL Action?

Miami Dolphins vs Detroit Lions (+3)

The Dolphins managed a tough 16-10 victory over the Steelers on Sunday night to end their losing run, but the good news is they got their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back. The Dolphins are 4-1 with Tua under center this year, and their offense is on another level with his dual-threat ability.

In their first game back off a bye, the Lions were humiliated by the Cowboys, losing 24-6, and have now gone two games without scoring a touchdown. The offense was hot early on, but their injury-riddled lineup has limited them greatly. In addition, the defense has been one of the worst in the league as they are surrendering a league-high 412.2 yards per game.

To make matters worse, the Lions have now dropped four contests in a row, and this team seems to be throwing in the towel. Jared Goff has thrown three interceptions with no touchdowns in his last two outings, and expects another poor outing next week. Lions add another loss to their record after Week Eight.

Chicago Bears (+9.5) vs Dallas Cowboys

The Bears make the least this week despite an impressive win over the Patriots on the road last week. The offense finally broke out and totaled 33 points in the win at New England. Regardless of the outcome on Monday night, the Cowboys will enter this contest with a significant advantage on both sides of the ball.

The Bears still have one of the worst offenses in the league, as they average just 18 points and 307 yards per contest. In contrast, Dak Prescott returns to the field and brings a completely different dynamic under center.  The Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard backfield combination also ideally complements Chicago’s run defense, which allows 163 rushing yards per game and 4.7 RB yards per carry.

Additionally, the Cowboys have the strongest pass rush in the NFL with 29 sacks, while the Bears have surrendered 23 sacks through six games. The Cowboys will also have the home-field advantage making the Chicago Bears likely losers in Week Eight.

Cleveland Browns +3  vs Cincinnati Bengals

The seasons of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns have recently taken polar opposite turns. The Bengals have won two straight games and are tied with the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North, while the Browns have dropped four straight games. The Browns have been outscored 114-83 over that span and they look like they are throwing in the towel.

According to reports, the Cleveland Browns are considering offers for Kareem Hunt and Greedy Williams. In other words, the Browns are sellers at the deadline and aren’t confident in their roster and where they are at moving forward in 2022. In Week 8, on Monday Night Football, the two clubs will play each other for the first time this season, and the Browns look like sure losers.
