If you think you already know what’s going to happen on the 2018 edition of WWE’s Survivor Series you better think again, as some matches have changed due to injuries or plot twists. After a somehow disappointing Crown Jewel event, Survivor Series needs to meet expectations, otherwise, the road to WrestleMania 35 can turn in a very complicated one for Vince, Stephanie, and Shane McMahon.Let’s take a look at the main card scheduled for next Sunday at Los Angeles, California, starting at 7 pm ET, alongside the betting favorites to win. Both Raw and SmackDown superstars will be involved so it should be interesting.
WWE’s 2018 Survivor Series Betting Preview & Picks
- When: Sunday, November 18th, 7 pm ET
- Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
- Live Stream: WWE Network
Brock Lesnar vs Daniel BryanBrock Lesnar regained the Universal Title at Crown Jewel with Baron Corbin’s help and he was supposed to fight AJ Styles, nevertheless, Daniel Bryan shocked the world last Tuesday at SmackDown by defeating Styles against all odds to become the WWE Champion. Now is going to be the ‘The Beard’ facing ‘The Conqueror’ for brand supremacy. It seems improbable that Bryan defeats ‘The Beast’. Lesnar’s return to the UFC has been delayed and defeating him looks like a job for Braun Strowman, but that’s doesn’t mean this one can be a really good warm up as ‘The Beard’ is pure athleticism and “The Conqueror” is all muscle.
Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte FlairHere’s another major change as ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey was supposed to face ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch, but the SmackDown Women’s champion will not be able to compete after suffering a concussion during her Raw’s invasion last Monday. Lynch herself picked Charlotte to face Ronda but is highly probable that Becky will still be involved someway, which is why smells like a victory for Ronda by DQ.Rumor has it that WWE’s creative team wants to set up a match between Rousey and Flair for Wrestlemania 35, but the WWE Universe is backing up Becky Lynch big time, so this could be the beginning of a story ending in an epic triple threat match at the biggest stage of them all.
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke NakamuraIntercontinental Champion vs United States Champion, ‘The Architect’ against ‘Nakamerica’. Somehow, this one feels kind of outdated as neither is having the success they used to. While Rollins looks more concerned about Dean Ambrose and the Shield’s future, Nakamura’s hype is running out of gas.Don’t get me wrong, both superstars are great competitors and two of the best in the entire roster, but maybe is too late for them to go head to head. Rollins should get the ‘W’ but don’t rule out an intervention by ‘The Lunatic’.
Women’s 5-on-5 Elimination MatchThe RAW Women’s Team line-up includes Natalya, Mickie James, Nia Jax, Tamina, and Ruby Riott. Alexa Bliss is the captain, but she can’t compete due to an injury. There is some concern about the chemistry they may have, especially Natalya and Ruby Riott, but having Nia and Tamina, two of the strongest WWE superstar’s sure looks like an advantage.SmackDown will be represented by Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, and Sonya Deville. Charlotte Flair was the fifth member but now is on the air as the ‘Queen’ will be facing Ronda Rousey one on one. This team looks weaker but you cannot underestimate their passion, at least to push their colleagues to the next level.
Men’s 5-on-5 Elimination MatchThis match is the heart of Survivor Series. Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley will represent Raw and Stephanie McMahon. The Raw team will be looking for a third straight victory over SmackDown’s and having two powerhouses such as McIntyre and Strowman certainly helps their cause. The Miz will be captain for the Blue Team, which is completed by Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, and Jeff Hardy. Jeff will be replacing Daniel Bryan, initially a co-captain of the team but now has to concentrate in Brock Lesnar. SmackDown has craftier fighters and the brand is threatening the reign that Raw has maintained for more than 25 years, therefore a victory here wouldn’t be a surprise.
Rest of the Card
- Buddy Murphy vs Mustafa Ali
- AOP vs The Bar (with Big Show)
- 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match (Kickoff)
