Biography:
After giving up a lucrative career as a hotel valet, David Strauss entered the online gaming industry in 2004 by joining Bovada as a customer service agent. After working his way through the company, David moved into sportsbook operations and was sent to Antigua in 2007 to manage proposition wagering. During his first two years as a bookmaker, he achieved record profits at Bovada before moving on to head the Security department at BetUS. After leaving BetUS, David joined Canadian sportsbook SportsInteraction in 2011 as a Senior Risk Manager. He later took responsibility for MyBookie’s wagering operations ahead of the 2018–19 NFL season. Drawing on more than two decades of online gaming experience, David covers sportsbook risk management, betting odds, line movement, futures, proposition wagering, promotions, and advantage-betting strategy. A numbers-driven analyst at heart, he relies on probability, disciplined bankroll management, and “The Math” to identify betting value at the right price. Betting philosophy: David evaluates wagers by comparing the probability implied by the available odds with his assessment of the likely outcome. His analysis considers market movement, sportsbook exposure, relevant statistics, injuries, matchup conditions, and whether bettors are paying a premium for a popular team or narrative. Editorial disclosure: David Strauss contributes analysis and educational content for MyBookie. His work is intended to help readers understand betting markets, odds, and risk; it does not guarantee profitable outcomes.
