Bellator 258: Archuleta Vs Pettis Betting Odds & Picks

Written by on May 6, 2021

What better way to start your weekend than with a big MMA title fight on Friday night? That is what we have going on at Bellator 258, with the main event of the evening seeing Juan Archuleta looking to defend his Bantamweight title against Sergio Pettis in what promises to be a barn burner. While it’s the title fight that is getting all the buzz, the rest of the main card also looks very good. In all, we have 4 fights set to go on Friday night, so let’s get right to previewing those matchups along with their Bellator odds to see if we can generate some winning picks.

Bellator 258 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis

Michael Page (-300) Vs Derek Anderson (+240)

The main card may be smaller than most, but we have some good fights set to go, starting with this intriguing Welterweight bout featuring a pair of fighters who are not used to losing. Page comes into this one sporting an impressive 18-1 record and a 4-fight win streak that includes 3 victories inside the opening 2 rounds. Anderson is 17-3 and has now won 3 in a row ahead of this one, with unanimous decisions the way he has been going of late. Page has some real power that he can draw on, which I think he uses to get the KO win.

Patricky Pitbull (-280) Vs Peter Queally (+230)

The next fight up is a Lightweight bout that could prove to be an absolute battle from start to however long it takes to land a KO punch, as both of these guys are going to come out swinging. Pitbull is 23-9 and looking to bounce back after a loss that snapped a 7-fight win streak that featured a lot of early KO wins. Queally is 12-5-1 and is a guy who likes to stand toe-to-toe and exchange blows. This one might not last very long, but it is sure to be fun to watch. I am on Pitbull to come away with the KO win in this one.

Anthony Johnson (-450) Vs Jose Augusto Azevedo (+350)

The co-main event of the night is a Light Heavyweight bout that serves as a tournament quarter final. There is a definite difference in experience here, which might well come into play when picking the winner. Johnson comes in with a career mark of 22-6, but he is also coming off a loss his last time out, snapping a 3-fight win streak in the process. Azevedo is 7-2 and the winner of 5 in a row. As impressive as that run has been, this feels like a step up in class. I have Johnson getting the job done quickly.

Juan Archuleta (-180) Vs Sergio Pettis (+150)

It the main event of the night and it’s time for a title fight, which is always a great way to close out any MMA event. It will be Juan Archuleta looking to defend his Bantamweight title in this one, while also looking to extend his winning streak to 3 and take his career record to 26-2. He is not going to have it easy, though, as Sergio Pettis is on a nice run of form after having won each of his last 3 fights, with 2 of those going the distance. I think we will see this one go the full 5 rounds, with the champ doing enough to retain the belt.
