Miller is just a 25-year-old who has thrown just 23.1 innings this season. He has done well with the strikeouts and limiting the damage but has yet to grab a win. He last went against Toronto on September 6th and went two no-hit innings.

For the Astros – Valdez is seeking his 12th win of the season. He was the Astros ace for much of the season and continues to have nasty stuff. Valdez has struck out 168 batters in just shy of 175 innings.

JP Sears (4-11, 4.51) vs. Justin Verlander (11-7, 3.24)

The 27-year-old Sears has had a tough season. The lefthander is 4-11 on the season.

The last two starts for Sears, though, have been good. In those two games, he has combined for 11 innings, allowing just eight hits and a single run. He will look to limit the damage against a dangerous Houston offense.

For the Astros, Verlander is coming off a win at the Rangers. That was a big win for him and the team. In that game, he went seven innings and allowed four hits and two runs, including a home run.

Paul Blackburn (4-4, 3.88) vs. Hunter Brown (10-11, 4.78)

The final game of the season features a pair of guys who are looking to finish the season strong. Blackburn, who is 29, needs five more strikeouts to reach 100 on the season. His last start was just three innings, as he allowed six hits and two runs.

Brown is making his 27th start of the season. In 141.1 innings, Brown has struck out 162 batters. His last start was a struggle, as they got blown out 11-2 by the Padres.

The Houston Astros would love to keep the heat on. Seattle is starting to struggle a little, and the Astros would like to take advantage of these final three weeks and win the division.
