Early 2022 College Football National Championship Betting Favorites & Analysis

Early 2022 College Football National Championship Betting Favorites & Analysis

We are 61 days away from the kickoff to the 2022 college football season. Coming off a season that was dominated by two teams all year, this season could be wide open for who makes the College Football Playoff. There are many teams hoping to put their name in the glory and have a shot to win it all in January.

It should come to no surprise at who has the top four odds to win the National Championship this next season. Your top four teams include Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson. There is a big drop off between fourth and fifth on the betting boards, with the fifth best odds being shared by Texas A&M and USC.

Let’s take a look at our top four teams and how they could pan out this season so you continue planning your bets against the NCAA Football Championship Odds

Updated 2023 NCAA Football National Championship Odds

Alabama Crimson Tide +180

The runner-up to Georgia and the three-time CFP Champion, the Alabama Crimson Tide have the best odds to win the National Championship this season. This is no surprise because Alabama is usually the favorite to win at the beginning of almost every season. If Nick Saban is alive and breathing, the Tide have a chance at winning the National Championship.

After a good freshman season by Bryce Young, the million dollar quarterback is ready for his sophomore season in Tuscaloosa. Young threw for over 4,800 yards last season and could be the favorite to win back-to-back Heisman trophies.

The win total for the Tide have been set at 10.5 this season which is very likely to hit on the over. The odds for the over is set at -240 for 10.5 wins this season.

Ohio State Buckeyes +320

2021 was a season to forget for the Ohio State Buckeyes. After suffering a week two loss to the Oregon Ducks at home, the Buckeyes truly never recovered. They fell to their rivals the Michigan Wolverines for the first time since 2011 and missed the chance at the Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoff.

C.J. Stroud finished fourth in the Heisman voting last season after throwing for over 4,400 yards. Stroud will need to be even better this season for the Buckeyes this season and hopes that the defense can improve from a season ago.

The win total for Ohio State has been set at 10.5 as well. The Buckeyes have -220 odds to win 10.5 games this season.

Georgia Bulldogs +380

The reigning National Champions are back and ready to defend their title. Unfortunately, it was a tough offseason for Georgia because they lost a lot of key players from their defense. Georgia was an old and experienced team last season that took advantage of having experienced players.

The Bulldogs rode the hot arm of Stetson Bennett last season on their run to the National Championship. The team will have to find a new quarterback to work with this season and hope for the best in a very tough conference.

The Bulldogs have a win total at 10.5 much like Alabama and Ohio State. We could actually see the under of 10.5 wins hitting the season at +175 odds.

Clemson Tigers +1100

Last year was a miserable season in terms of success for the Clemson Tigers. They have struggled in their first season without Trevor Lawrence and lost their defensive coordinator as well. The Tigers have an uphill battle to fight in terms of the top teams this season but never count out Dabo Swinney.

D.J. Uiagalelei will have to carry a load this season for the Tigers. Last season he only threw for 2,246 yards with more interceptions than touchdowns. That may be the number one thing that has to change for Clemson to compete this season is the offensive performance.

10.5 wins is likely going to be under again this season. Clemson could be a team that can compete in the ACC but until signs of improvement come, we would recommend staying away from the Tigers.
