NCAA Football Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Tips for Upcoming 2022 Season

NCAA Football Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Tips for Upcoming 2022 Season

Things didn’t go the way the Ohio State Buckeyes expected them to last season. After a Week 2 loss at home to Oregon, things seemed to get going for the Buckeyes.

They went through the rest of the season undefeated, heading into their matchup with Michigan in the regular-season finale. Ohio State was favored to win, but Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines had other ideas. Michigan dominated the Buckeyes, and Michigan went on to win the Big 10. Let’s see what lies ahead for the Buckeyes so you start planning your bets against the College Football Betting Odds.

Big Changes in Columbus

It’s now a new season, and the Buckeyes are looking for revenge. Ryan Day’s squad should be very talented once again, and they are the heavy favorites to win the Big 10.

Day made numerous changes to the coaching staff in the offseason. None bigger than the hiring of Jim Knowles to take over the defense. Knowles turned the Oklahoma State defense around last season, as prior to last season, the Oklahoma State defense was known as one of the weakest defenses in the country.

2022 Betting Numbers

Ohio State is a prohibitive -250 to win the Big 10 this season. The oddsmakers are putting a lot of faith in the Buckeyes.

Their quarterback, CJ Stroud, is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, coming in at a +200. The oddsmakers have put Ohio State’s win total at 10.5.

2022 Schedule

We’ll find out how good Ohio State is right off the bat. In Week 1, they’ll be taking on the new-look Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in Columbus. Marcus Freeman takes over for Brian Kelly, and we’ll surely see some new wrinkles from the Irish. This will be one of the biggest games of the season.

The next two games should be easy non-conference home games for the Buckeyes. In Week 2, they’ll host Arkansas State, and in Week 3, they’ll host Toledo

They’ll then open up Big 10 play with a tough one. They’ll welcome the Wisconsin Badgers to Columbus. Wisconsin always plays physically, and this will be a rough Big 10 opener. OSU hasn’t lost to Wisconsin at home since 2004, so they’ll look to keep their winning streak alive.

Week 5 will be their fifth consecutive home game as they host Rutgers. In Week 6, they’ll finally hit the road and head to East Lansing to take on Michigan State. Mel Tucker has done a great job of rebuilding the Spartans program, and he grabbed a lot of good players from the transfer portal.

Week 8 doesn’t get any easier, as they host Iowa. Kirk Ferentz’s squad is always at the top of the Big 10 standings.

After Iowa, they’ll take a trip to Happy Valley to take on Penn State. They’ll then have a little reprieve in their schedule, as they’ll head to Northwestern and then host Indiana. They’ll then head to Maryland.

Finally, they’ll host their biggest rival, the Michigan Wolverines. This game could very well decide who wins the Big 10. This game is always one of the most anticipated games of the season, and the Buckeyes will be looking to reclaim their crown.
