2022 NCAA Football Betting Predictions: Teams to Definitely Loose their Week 2 Match

We’ve come to Week 2 of the college football season, and now everyone has at least one game under their belt. In looking at this week’s slate of games, we’ve found a couple of teams that we think are going to be on the wrong end of things. Let’s take a look at two games where we’ve designated one of the teams as a “sure loser so you can bet against their College Football Lines.

Who Will Be the Big Losers In Week 2 of the 2022 College Football Season?

Alabama @ Texas (+18)

After a disappointing 2021 season, the Texas Longhorns are looking to make a return to the upper echelon of college football in 2022. Steve Sarkisian has done a great job of recruiting and raiding the transfer portal, and the Longhorns have built themselves into a very good squad entering the 2022 season.

Nick Saban never rebuilds, he just reloads, and the Crimson Tide is arguably the most talented team in the country this season. The offense is led by Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, and the defense is led by Will Anderson. The Crimson Tide is built for another national title run.

These two teams will meet in Austin on Saturday, and Alabama starts the week as an 18-point favorite. Alabama steamrolled Utah State 55-0 last Saturday. Utah State head coach Blake Anderson said that the Crimson Tide were the best football team he had ever seen after last Saturday’s contest. Utah State was the defending Mountain West champion last season.

Young didn’t see a ton of action, but he did throw for 195 yards and five touchdowns, and ran for over 100 in limited action. The Alabama defense pitched a shutout, and were dominant against the Aggies offense. Utah State could only muster 136 yards of offense in this one.

Texas defeated Louisiana Monroe by a score of 55-10. Highly touted quarterback Quinn Ewers made his debut for the Longhorns, and didn’t disappoint. He threw for two touchdowns in limited action. Heisman candidate Bijan Robinson also looked good, as the running back had two touchdowns himself.

The big question mark for the Longhorns this season will be their defense. Texas did allow ULM to rack up over 250 yards of offense. ULM did a good job of trying to keep the Longhorns offense off the field, as they were in possession of the ball for 11 minutes longer than Texas.

Even though the spread is high, we just don’t think that the Texas program is at the level of the Crimson Tide just yet. While Texas will come out with a lot of energy and will look good early on, the Tide will end up dominating both sides of the ball and will leave the hostile environment with a 28-point win.

Tennessee @ Pittsburgh (+4.5)

The Pitt Panthers had a tough one in their renewed-rivalry game against West Virginia in Week 1. The Panthers outlasted the Mountaineers 38-31. The Tennessee Volunteers had an easy one against Ball State. Tennessee won 59-10.

These two will meet in Pittsburgh on Saturday. We know that both of them can score, but this one will come down to which team’s defense can make the big stop. Pittsburgh’s defense caught a big break late in their game, as they almost allowed West Virginia to tie the game.

Josh Heupel’s squad should have one of the top offenses in the SEC. Tennessee could make some noise in the SEC this season.

Pittsburgh got lucky in Week 1, but they won’t get so lucky in this one. We have the Vols winning this one by 10 points.
