When it comes to sports, we all love to see a Cinderella story, but even as we are watching it all play out, we are always aware that the story will, at some point or another, come to an end. Whether it turns out to be a happy ending is part of the fun of going along for the ride, but when it does end, it very often does so in a bad way. That is what we are looking at now with the Colorado Buffaloes, who were an absolute Cinderella story for the opening 3 weeks of the season before being brought back down to earth last weekend. We will get into all of that in a moment, but the next chapter in their story comes this weekend in what could potentially be another nightmare scenario.

Why bet on the USC Trojans

2022 was the first season under new head coach Lincoln Riley, and while it did not end the way the USC Trojans had hoped, the team looked very good at times and ended the year with most believing that they would be a big threat in Year 2 of the Riley project. They have definitely started the season strong, going 4-0 and putting up points for fun in the progress, although you do have to temper that a little by saying that their schedule to this point has been more than manageable. While there will be a lot of hype ahead of this game, the reality is that it’s one they should win. With their 4-0 start, the Trojans have now won 15 of their last 18 games, but perhaps more importantly, they are a perfect 7-0 in their last 7 visits to Colorado. While the Trojans are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 overall, they are also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 versus the Buffaloes. The OVER has hit in 5 of their last 6 road games.

Why bet on the Colorado Buffaloes

Given all that has happened through the opening month of the season, it’s easy to forget that the Buffaloes were a 1-win team last season. The arrival of Deion Sanders made this team relevant again and winning their opening 3 games of the season had people drinking the Kool-Aid and believing that the Buffaloes were for real. Yes, they have already made great strides, but last weekend proved that there is still a lot of work to be done after getting blown out by the Oregon Ducks. My fear here is that we may see more of the same on Saturday. You look at the trends and you don’t really see much to like. We already talked about the Trojans dominance in this matchup, but Colorado is also 0-5 ATS in their last 5 against the PAC 12 and just 2-8 ATS in the month of September. The OVER has hit in 11 of their last 15 overall.

College Football Expert Pick and Series Prediction

I think the loss to the Ducks last weekend served as a bit of a preview as to what we might see this Saturday. The Trojans are just too strong, which is why I like them to win and cover the spread. I am also leaning UNDER.
