The free agency period of the NFL season is still active, but the reality is that transactions have slowed down dramatically as we approach the 2022 NFL Draft. Once teams get through the drafting process, they will then look at the remaining free agents and look to fill the holes that remain open after picking their new crop of players. It’s always an interesting time for football fans as they wait to see what their team will look like for the coming season. We all want football to begin, though, and while there is still a lot of time before we get to the start of the season, we thought it might be fun to make some bold NFL Betting predictions for the 2022 NFL season. These are all likely to blow up in my face, but let’s take a run.
Bold Predictions for the 2022 NFL Betting Season
Joe Burrow Wins the MVP
If there was anyone still on the fence about Joe Burrow being the QB of the future for the Cincinnati Bengals, those doubts were washed away in a magnificent run to the Super Bowl. What’s amazing is that the Bengals still have a ton of cap space to work with and are on the brink of something very special if they spend that available money wisely. I think Burrow takes another step forward this coming season, and while I don’t like Cincinnati to win the Super Bowl, I think Burrow is a very tempting bet at his current odds of +1225.
The LA Chargers Win the AFC
It would be easy to pick either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Buffalo Bills here. After all, these teams served up an instant classic in the playoffs last season and both look to be the favorites to make a deep run this season. That said, this article is all about bold bets, so let’s look a little further down the board in the odds to win the AFC. The Chargers have a legit starting QB in Justin Herbert, but he still need some help before his team can take the next step. I think the Chargers do that, as they will be well aware of what they have under center. A longshot to be sure, but this is supposed to be bold picks.
The Arizona Cardinals Win the NFC
It has been a bit of a tumultuous offseason for the Cardinals thus far, with QB Kyler Murray pointing fingers and acting more than a little petulantly after another disappointing end to last season. The Cardinals believe they have their starting QB in Murray and are going to go all out to make sure that they can make him as happy as possible, which means adding more weapons. The next Super Bowl is in Arizona, so you can bet that the Cardinals would love to have than home field advantage in the championship game.
Tom Brady Fails to Deliver
You wonder of something more was going on when Tom Brady decided to reverse his retirement decision and return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rumor has it that a move to the Miami Dolphins was on the cards, but that looks to be old news now. You do, though, have to wonder if Brady, as great a competitor as he is, really has his heart in playing another season. A new head coach in Tampa also means change, and I think we might see Brady and the Bucs struggle just a bit.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
