Top 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Matches to Wager on July 3rd

Evil Geniuses Vs Counter Logic Gaming

  • When: Saturday, July 3 – 14:00 PDT

Evil Geniuses enter Week 5 of LCS 2021 Summer off a 2-1 week. They started last competitive week with a loss to Team Liquid and quickly bounced back with wins against TSM and Dignitas.

Evil Geniuses looked extremely good against TSM, and it’s hard not to praise them for defeating the current league frontrunners. However, EG struggled a bit against Dignitas and arguably only won because DIG made way too many mistakes.

Seeing Evil Geniuses perform well against stronger teams and slip up against weaker LCS sides is nothing new. They’re known as one of the most volatile teams in the North American League of Legends league that traditionally do well when they’re priced as betting underdogs and underperform when they’re expected to win.

That’s EG’s trait that has stuck with them throughout the LCS Spring split and into the summer season. It is also important to note when looking to place a bet on LoL betting odds.

Given EG’s struggles against weaker sides, it makes sense to look at Counter Logic Gaming as a team that could potentially take advantage of that. However, CLG have been very up-and-down this season and have yet to show any form of stability.

That said, they have done well against mid-table teams before and are slowly showing signs of improvement. It’s also important to note that CLG already won against EG not too long ago, so they should feel confident about their chances to do it again on Saturday.

CLG are priced at around +137 to win against Evil Geniuses, which is a fairly generous number. Although they lack the individual talent to compete with EG, CLG are a far more stable team. You can’t go wrong with a bet on CLG; however, it’s definitely worth exploring a +5.5 kill handicap bet, which gives us some security if things go sour.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming +5.5 kills

Team Liquid Vs Cloud9

  • When: Saturday, July 3 – 16:00 PDT

The LCS 2021 Spring finalists will go at it on Saturday, July 3 at 16:00 PDT. These two teams already met once before this split, albeit way back at the start of June, when C9 came away with a win.

A lot has changed since, so perhaps we shouldn’t overvalue that result.

Cloud9 have recently reinstalled their star ADC Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen to their starting lineup, which has yet to earn them any positive outcomes. The reigning LCS champions are 19-11 on the season but 6-5 on this split.

Last week, Cloud9 beat Golden Guardians and CLG but lost to 100 Thieves. Although you can’t complain about a 2-1 week, it wasn’t something to write home about.

Beating Golden Guardians and CLG should come easy to Cloud9 given their talent, but watching them play, they have had a few moments where you could clearly see something isn’t clicking. C9 are bound to improve in a few weeks, but they aren’t playing well currently.

Team Liquid have had their own fair share of issues, culminating with coach Joshua “Jatt” Leesman resigning last week. Despite all the drama, Liquid kept it together and finished LCS 2021 Summer Week 3 with a 2-1 record, beating Evil Geniuses and CLG.

Heading into Week 4, Liquid are expected to bring Barney “Alphari” Morris back into the roster, which is definitely a plus. However, even if the Brit doesn’t feature, Liquid can still count on Thomas “Jenkins” Tran.

The rookie has been playing exceptionally well as a replacement for Alphari. While he doesn’t have as much experience, nor is he as talented, Team Liquid should do more than fine regardless of which top laner they will use.

This match is tough to call. Both teams have the talent to succeed, but neither has been showing it just yet. Team Liquid are priced as high as +100, which underrates them a bit and are a good bet at this price.

Prediction: Team Liquid to win
