LCK Spring 2024 Odds: Betting the Road to the Championship

LCK Spring 2024 Odds: Betting the Road to the Championship

League of Legends has become such a massive esports game that this sport is now played in nearly every country throughout the world. While there are some massive world championship events played at the end of the year, most of the action is played in different regions.

That is the case in South Korea, and this region is known for having some great LoL teams, and also some of the best players in the world. The LCK Spring Series has been taking place since January, but it’s now time for a champion to be crowned at the Spring Split.

The top six teams will be competing in a bracket style event to come up with a winner, and there will be some great betting odds to check out as well.

Here is a look at some of those LCK Academy Spring Series betting matchups that really stand out,and how you should be betting on those events.

LCK AS 2024 Season | 5th season of Korea’s premier amateur tournament hosted by Riot Games

Two Clear Favorites

Gen.G and T1 are going to have to wait around to figure out who their opponents are going to be as they were both dominant throughout the regular season. Gen.G posted a record of 17-1 to earn the top seed, and T1 wasn’t too far behind them at 15-3.

Earning a bye can be a huge advantage in this event as it means that those teams will only have to win two times in order to be crowned the champion. Gen.G will be awaiting the winner of the 4-5 matchup, while T1 could be taking on the number three seed.

Despite having the best overall record in league play, Gen.G is still a slight underdog to T1 in this event. T1 has been a betting favorite throughout the year, and they just look like a team that is ready to go on a big run.

A Look at the Bracket

On Saturday, March 30, Hanwha Life Esports will be taking on Kwangdong Freecs, and there will be a big favorite in this one. Hanwha Life Esports is another team that went 15-3 during regular season action, and they are going to move on to face T1 in the semifinals.

KT Rolster and Dplus KIA will battle it out in the other semifinal matchup, and this should be a terrific battle. Both teams had some good moments throughout the regular season, but neither team can be counted on to deliver.

Look for Dplus KIA to pull off a slight upset in this game to face Gen.G in the semifinals.

LCK Academy Spring Series 2024 Betting | Picking a Winner

Gen.G and T1 have simply separated themselves from other teams in this league, and that is going to hold true in this tournament as well. There could always be some upsets, but that doesn’t seem likely with how well these teams have been playing.

Even though it was Gen.G that had the best regular season run, this is going to be time for T1 to shine bright. That roster is loaded with some big names, and they will come away with the championship in the Spring Split tournament.

eSports Betting: League of Legends 2020 LCK April 16 Matches

Previous Betting News

It doesn’t matter what sport you talk about, there is just something extra special about the playoffs. The knowledge that the next game could be your last until the new season begins delivers a level of tension that you just don’t see in the regular season. It’s very much the same in eSports, with a lot of money on the line once the playoffs arrive. We are just about at that point in the LCK, which is the Korean league in the League of Legends world. Thursday, April 16 will see the final two games of the regular season played, after which the top 5 teams in the LCK will enter into a King of the Hill single elimination bracket. Each of the 5 teams will get guaranteed money for reaching this stage of the season, but the 100 million Won that goes to the winner is a he prize, as is the entry into the MSI Main Event Tournament, which is also given to the winner. Before we get to all of that, though, we do have to play the final two games of the season, so let’s check those out with their corresponding League of Legends Odds.

eSports Betting: League of Legends LCK April 16 Matches

Griffin (+136) Vs Hanwha Life Esports (-200) – 4 AM EST Start

This is the epitome of a meaningless game, as neither one of these teams are going to be involved in the LCK Spring Playoffs. Griffin have had a terrible season and are sitting dead last with a 4-13 record. This is all the more surprising when you consider that they are coming off a very strong year in 2019. They finished 15-3 last spring and ended up losing in the final, before going 13-5 in the summer tournament and once again finishing as the runner-up. That led many to believe that they would challenge again this year, but they were poor right from the off this season. The 6-11 record that Hanwha have this season is a little more expected, as they failed to make the playoffs in the spring and summer tournaments in 2019, going 9-9 and 5-13, respectively. I am going to go with a bit of a longshot here and take Griffin to win the best of 3.

DragonX (-588) Vs APK Prince (+338) – 7 AM EST

One of the top seeds heading into the playoffs will be Dragon X, and while they are sitting at 13-4 at the moment, they may need to settle for 3rd in the tiebreaker with the two teams currently ahead of them. Still, there is a very good reason for them to try and finish the season strong and try to get the best possible footing available. They are certainly on a good run of form, winning 6 in a row ahead of this one. After a good year in 2019, APK Prince have taken a step backward and come into this matchup with a season record of 6-11, although they are coming off a win in their last game. Still, it was DragonX who won the earlier meeting with APK this season, so look for them to make it 2 for 2.

League Of Legends LCK April 12th Matches

Sunday, April 12 at 4:00 AM ET

DragonX -385
Afreeca Freecs +260

DragonX has won two straight series and three of their last five overall, including a 2-1 win over Sandbox Gaming on April 1. Afreeca Freecs is free-falling as they come into this affair riding a five-series losing streak that includes a pair f back-to-back shutout losses against APK Prince and Hanwha Life on April 2 and April 5 respectively. DragonX is is third place in the LCK standings at 11-4 overall and 25-12 in 37 games while Afreeca Freecs is in sixth place at a modest 7-9 and 18-23 in 38 games.

Predictions

While Afreeca Freecs jungler Spirit has been respectable in posting a 3.41 KDA, none of his teammates has a KDA higher than 2.99. Conversely, DragonX has a trio of elite stars and six players overall with with KDA’s between Keria’s 4.80 and Chovy’s team-high 5.9.

You can think of this pairing as a mismatch akin to the New England Patriots going up against the Cleveland Browns or maybe the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Phoenix Suns. Back DragonX to get the win here and you won’t go wrong!

League of Legends Pick: DragonX 2-0

Sunday, April 12 at 7:00 AM ET

Hanwha Life Esports +400
Gen.G -714

Hanwha Life has won just two of their last five but they did manage to get past Afreeca Freecs via 2-0 shutout on April 5. Gen.G has won two straight and four of their last five including a 2-1 win over APK Prince on April 8. Hanwha Life sits in seventh place in the LCK standings at an uninspiring 5-10 and 14-23 in 37 games. Gen.G is tied for the league lead in the LCK with a fine, 13-3 mark that includes a stellar 28-10 record in games.

Prediction

While Hanwha Life doesn’t have a single player with a KDA over Bot laner Vsta’s modest 3.27, Gen.G has a trio of legitimate superstars leading the way in Mid laner Bdd (7.56 KDA), Bot laner Ruler (7.43 KDA) and support specialist Life (6.37 KDA). Gen.G is by far, the better and more cohesive team in this matchup. Back the favorites to win and cash in!

League of Legends Pick: Gen.G 2-1

Previous Betting News

With the 2020 LCK League of Legends Group Stage rolling right along and a pair of intriguing matchups going down on Friday, April 10, let’s find out who’s in action and which teams are looking good against their MyBookie.ag League of Legends betting odds.

League Of Legends LCK April 10th Matches Odds & Predictions

Friday, April 10 at 2:00 AM ET

DragonX -233
DAMWON Gaming +165

DragonX (11-4) has won two straight and three of their last five matches including a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sandbox Gaming the last time they picked up the ‘sticks’ on April 1. More importantly, a whopping six players have been performing almost equally well for DragonX this season with KDA’s between Keria’s 4.80 and Chovy’s team-high 5.9.

DAMWON Gaming (8-8) is coming off a crushing 2-0 shutout loss against Griffin in the wee hours of North American time on Wednesday despite being a huge favorite. The loss dropped the championship hopefuls to 2-3 over their last five and snapped a modest two-game winning streak in the process. Still, with Ghost owning a fantastic 6.64 KDA and ShowMaker sporting a solid 4.75 KDA, DAMWON has a pair of elite performers. Ghost is tied for second when it comes to the most kills in a single game (13)

Prediction

For this matchup, I’m thinking DragonX is the easy pick to win this pairing. DAMWON choked up against a Griffin team they were largely expected to throttle and now I think they’re going down again after getting their confidence shaken in their mid-week shutout loss. DragonX is 25-12 in 37 games on the season while DAMWON has gone a far more modest 17-16. Back the favored DragonX to get the big win over a DAMWON squad that underachieves far too often and at the worst time possible.

League of Legends Pick: DragonX 2-1

Friday, April 10 at 5:00 AM ET

SK Telecom T1 -357
KT Rolster +245

SK Telecom (12-3) had their four-game winning streak emphatically snapped in their 2-0 shutout loss against DAMWON Gaming on April 5. Still though, SK Telecom features a loaded roster headed up by the man generally regarded as the best League of Legends player of all-time in mid-laner Faker (5.53 KDA). Not only that, but SK Telecom also the top jungler and the player with the top KDA this season in Elim (8.5 KDA). To add more fuel to the fire, SK Telecom’s Teddy (7.81 KDA) and Canna (7.56 KDA) are ranked second and fourth respectively in KDA’s this spring.

KT Rolster (8-7) has won each of their last five games including a solid 2-1 win over Griffin on April 1. While Bot Laner Aiming is having a fantastic campaign with a team-high 5.37 KDA, three of his teammates own KDA’s of 2.15 or less while none owns a KDA higher than bonO’s 3.55.

Prediction

KT Rolster has been on fire recently, but the fact of the matter is that they’re taking on SK Telecom at the worst possible time seeing as how the reigning champs are going to be locked in and focused after suffering a big upset loss the last time out. Basically, when the player regarded as the best in the business has the fifth best KDA on his own team, no matter who SK Telecom is playing, they’re going to be in trouble, much like KT Rolster will be in this pairing. Back the loaded champs to get it done in this one!

League of Legends Pick: SK Telecom 2-1

Previous Betting News

The League of Legends LCK is the top professional LoL league in South Korea. Ten teams compete in the Spring double round-robin group stage. The top five teams advance to the Spring Playoffs. With the 2020 spring split inching its way toward its annual championship showcase, let’s find out which teams are in action and which ones are looking good against their MyBookie.ag League of Legends betting odds.

League Of Legends LCK April 9th 2020 Matches

DAMWON vs Griffin

AMWON Gaming -588
Griffin +364

DAMWON Gaming has won two straight matches by the identical score of 2-0 in taking out APK Prince and SK telecom T1 in their last two. With a team-high 4.75 KDA ShowMaker is leading the way for DAMWON while three of his teammates have KDA’s of at least 3.41. Griffin enters this contest coming off a hard-fought 2-1 win over APK Prince the last time out to snap an ugly, four-game slide that included one 2-0 shutout loss against DragonX on March 28. Viper leads the way for Griffin with a 3.44 KDA, although none of his teammates has a higher KDA than Tarzan’s 2.72. While Griffin has been one of the best teams in the spring 2020 split in the LCK, there’s a reason why DAMWON is such a huge favorite in this matchup and it’s because they’ve got the better group of combined players. Chalks this one up as a solid win for the favorites.

eSports Pick: DAMWON 2-1

APK Prince vs Gen G

APK Prince +575
Gen.G -1250

APK has gone 2-3 over their last five, but they’ve also dropped three of their last four matchups including a 2-1 loss against Griffin on April 5. HyBriD has been lighting it up for APK with an encouraging 3.89 KDA but he’s the only player on his team with a KDA over 2.95. Gen.G has gone a nearly perfect 4-1 in their last five with all four of their wins being convincing 2-0 wins, most recently, over Sandbox Gaming on April 3. Bdd and Ruler have been crazy good in compiling 7.56 and 7.43 KDA’s respectively. Life, has been nearly as elite while putting up a fantastic 6.37 KDA and two more Gen.G players have rock-solid KDA’s of at least 5.47. The bottom line is that Gen.G is by far, the better, more experienced and more cohesive team in this mismatch. It’s going to coast you, but Gen.G is the easy pick here!

eSports Pick: Gen.G 2-0

Previous Betting News

No-one has any idea when the professional sports leagues will be back in business and ready to play, which is why we are beginning to turn our attention to eSports. While many of you probably view the world of professional video gaming as a bit of a fringe sport, there is actually a huge global audience tuning in to the many great leagues that are out there. Let’s analyze some of the League of Legends Odds for LCK for April 8th 2020 Matches.

League Of Legends LCK April 8th Matches

For the purposes of this piece, we are going to talk about the League of Legends (LOL) matchups for the coming week. The LOL leagues are set up to be somewhat regional, in that we have teams in North America, Europe, and Korea, to name but a few. They are all tied together in that they compete in head to head matches playing League of Legends, which is a multiplayer online battle arena video game.

The league that we are focusing on here is the LCK, which is made up of 10 Korean teams. It’s always smart to pay attention to the format of the games, as some are single game battles, while others are the best of 3 or 5 games. We will make sure that you are aware of that with each game that we preview. The next round of games is set to go on Wednesday, April 8, with a 4 AM EST start time, so be sure to get those bets in early for the two games that we have on tap. Now, let’s get to the previews.

DAMWON Gaming (-526) Vs Griffin (+301)

The setup for these matchups is a best of 3, so let’s start by taking a look at DAMWON and where they stand in the league, as well as their recent form. The top 3 in the league have all pulled a way a little, but DAMWON are trying to close the gap, as they are now sitting in 4th with a season record of 8-7. They are coming off a 2-0 win over T1 on Sunday afternoon, which means that they are now on a run where they have won 4 in a row. Griffin are sitting at the bottom of the LCK league, but they are sure to be coming into this one on a bit of a high after a 2-1 win over APK Prince on Sunday. That broke a losing skid for Griffin, although they have been close in the 2 games prior to their most recent win, losing 2-1 in those matchups.

APK Prince Vs Gen.G

What we have here is what initially looks like a bit of a mismatch, with the top of the league Gen.G team going against an APK Prince squad that is struggling to find their feet in the LCK League. Gen.G are on top with a season record of 12-3, but they are sharing that with T1, who have the same record, while staying just ahead of DragonX at 11-4. This is a game that they should win, but the pressure of maintaining the top spot is always tough. APK Prince are down in 9th with a 5-10 record and are coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to Griffin, the bottom of the league team, on Sunday. This should be an easy win for Gen.G.

League of Legends LCK 2019 Spring rolls along with a couple of intriguing matchups on Thursday, March 28, Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30. One match especially should spark interest as Griffin takes on KingZone Dragon X.

Griffin maintains their top spot in League of Legends Korea. KingZone Dragon X is only 3 matches behind, though. Who wins in this massive battle on Friday?

Top eSports Betting Picks for the Week – March 25th Edition

League of Legends  – LCK 2019 Spring

Thursday, March 28

Jin Air Green Wings vs SK Telecom 1

As is often the case, Jin Air Green Wings finds themselves well behind their peers. JAGW is 1-15 in LCK 2019 Spring. Their only win happened against Afreeca Freecs on March 7.

SK Telecom is 12-4. Their only 4 losses have been to Griffin twice, Sandbox and Damwon. It doesn’t look like JAGW has any shot, but upsets do happen. Backing JAGW gives us a chance at scoring on a nice moneyline.

eSports Betting Pick: Jin Air Green Wings

Gen.G vs Damwon Gaming

Gen.G has 11 losses and only 5 wins this season. They have won 2-of-3, though. They beat a couple of decent teams as well in Afreeca Freecs, and Griffin. Gen.G also might be catching Damwon at the right time.

Damwon has been on a slide. Now 9-7, they’ve lost 3 of their last 5 to Sandbox, KingZone Dragon X, and Griffin. Gen.G’s moving up while Damwon’s moving down. Take the hot team over the cold one.

eSports Betting Pick: Gen.G

Friday, March 29

Griffin vs KingZone Dragon X

Friday’s match is massive with 2 of he top 3 teams in LCK 2019 Spring battling it out. Not only are Griffin and KDX two of the best in South Korea, they’re also two of the beast in the world.

Griffin’s been dominating pretty much since the season started. They still only have 2 losses, back-to-back games versus Gen.G and Afreeca Freecs. Plus, Griffin bounced back from the losses with a couple of wins versus Hanwha and Damwon.

KDX has been on a massive roll, including beating Gen.G, Afreeca Freecs, and Damwon. Will KingZone Dragon X keep it going? They could. This is the first time they’re playing Griffin since Jan. 17. Back then, KingZone Dragon X hadn’t yet hit their stride. They’ve hit their stride now.

eSports Betting Pick: KinZone Dragon X

Saturday, March 30

Sandbox Gaming vs Gen.G

Sandbox takes on Gen.G hoping to start a run. Like every team in League of Legends Champions Korea, Sandbox is chasing Griffin. They’ve gone 2-2 in their last 4, though, making their form just .500.

Sandbox beat Gen.G 2-0 the last time they faced them. Even if Gen.G. wins a game, Sandbox should find enough to take the victory. They’re worth a shot in what should be one of the most competitive eSports matches over the weekend.

eSports Betting Pick: Gen.G

Top eSports Betting Picks for the Week – March 18th Edition

League of Legends  – LCK 2019 Spring

Thursday, March 21

Griffin vs Hanwha Life

Griffin heads into the week with a 12-2 record. With such a stunning record, it’s hard to make a case for Hanwha Life. Then again, things aren’t as impossible for Hanwha as they might seem.

Griffin might be 12-2, but look at when they lost those 2 matches? Yep, just last week, which means that Griffin might be vulnerable to a slide. Can Hanwha take advantage? The Lifers have also lost 2 in a row. Hanwha’s losses weren’t terrible, 1:2 to both Damwon and SK Telecom.

That tells us they can hang with Griffin on Thursday. Because they’ll offer odds, Hanwha Life is the play.

eSports Betting Pick: Hanwha Life

KingZone DragonX vs KT Rolster

KingZone is at 10-5 in Lol Champions Korea. That puts them in fourth place. They’ve won 3 in a row and 6-of-7. KDX appears to be on their way to the top spot in the standings. If they keep this up, it’s only a matter of time.

On Thursday, they battle an old foe in KT Rolster. If this match happened in 2018, it would be the highlight battle of the week. It doesn’t, though. Instead of being a top Lol squad, the Rolsters have continued to lose with regularity. They’re 1-7 in their last 8.

KDX rolls to an easy win.

eSports Betting Pick: KingZone DragonX

Sunday, March 24

Hanwha Life vs Sandbox

If Hanwha’s lucky enough to get by Griffin on Thursday, they take a couple of days off before having to battle Sandbox on March 24. Sandbox is a match ahead of KDX in the Champions Korea Standings.

They’ll be motivated to beat Hanwha, but Hanwha should get back on track on Thursday. If they do, they can carry that momentum into this Sunday matchup. Hanwha Life to make it two in a row this week.

eSports Betting Pick: Hanwha Life

Afreeca Freecs vs KingZone DragonX

KDX should offer favorite’s odds. This is especially true if they take care of business on Thursday and dominate KT Rolster. Even at favorite’s odds, though, they’re a play against here.

Afreeca Freecs is on fire. They had gone 1-7 in their last 8 until a couple of matches last week. The Freecs dominated KT Roltser 2:0. Then, they put a 2:1 loss onto Griffin. They’ll battle KingZone tough on Sunday and deserve a look as an upset winner.

eSports Betting Pick: Afreeca Freecs
