Fnatic and Monte struggled a bit in the group stage, but they both made it to the playoffs. Fnatic went 3-1, while Monte won three of five series (3-2) played, which included an upset win against Heroic (2-1).

That win alone might be enough to suggest that Monte are a good team, but this isn’t the case. Heroic played uncharacteristically poorly this tournament, so Monte beating them is more of a testament to how weak Heroic were rather than how good Monte are.

Moreover, since their last group stage match, Monte have lost against Team Spirit (twice) and ARCRED, while they’ve only beaten REDPack and Paqueta. This proves that Monte can lose to anyone, and they’re not in great form.

This could be a close game, but at the offered betting odds, we like Fnatic better.

Astralis vs. Eternal Fire

Astralis made it through ESL Pro League Season 18 Group A with wins against ORKS, GamerLegion, and FURIA Esports. Those are decent results, but nothing to write home about since it’s not like any of those teams can be considered particularly strong.

Eternal Fire, on the other side, made it to the playoffs through Group D lower bracket. They lost their first match of the group stage against Cloud9 (0-2), then bounced back with a 2-0 sweep against 9INE, lost their next series against Virtus.pro (0-2), and went on to beat Cloud9 (2-0) and Team Liquid (2-0) in the lower bracket.

Eternal Fire’s results this tournament have been all over the place, but even though EF haven’t been the most consistent team, they played well in the final stretch of the group stage. Astralis should probably win, but Eternal Fire have proved to be very resilient and should be good for one map.

9z Team, on the other side, didn’t have to do much to reach the playoffs – only beating M80, Apeks, and 5yclone. Not only did VP show more, but they also field much better players than 9z, who probably shouldn’t even be in the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 18.

MOUZ vs. FURIA Esports
