SuperMassive Blaze vs Acend

  • When: Sunday, September 12 – 15:00 CEST

SuperMassive Blaze might not be one of the most well-known teams heading to Berlin; however, something about this team makes them hard to ignore. SuperMassive Blaze tore through the EMEA Challengers to secure their ticket for the third Masters, where they’ll look to prove all the doubters wrong and show that they’re more than just outsiders.

The team formed just four months ago, bringing together some of the best Turkish players from five different teams. The standout player on the team is the captain, Melih “pAura” Karaduran, who many remember from his time at Team Heretics, who he led to the summit of the European Valorant competitive scene in 2020.

The Turkish captain has had just much success with his new team, helping SuperMassive Blaze defeat some of Europe’s best teams, largely thanks to the team’s aggressive playstyle, which makes the all-Turkish squad a pain to deal with.

As good as SuperMassive Blaze can be, they can also be a bit inconsistent. That is mainly because their playstyle seems to be based on confidence and momentum, meaning that if you can shut them down early, SuperMassive Blaze will struggle to bounce back.

SuperMassive Blaze is priced as underdogs, even though they already won against Acend (2-1) during Challengers at the end of August. That makes sense since the Challengers was played online.

Even though it’s unclear whether the Turks will manage to look as good on LAN as they did online, the esports bookmakers seem to be underestimating them. You can back SuperMassive Blaze at odds as high as +160, which is way too high given their previous success against Acend, and their high ceiling.

Prediction: SuperMassive Blaze to win

Sentinels vs G2 Esports

  • When: Sunday, September 12 – 18:00 CEST

Everyone who has heard of the Valorant eSports scene should know of Sentinels. For those who aren’t caught up with the Valorant competitive scene – Sentinels are reigning champions of the international competition and arguably the best team in the world.

As North America’s top seed, Sentinels traveled to Berlin with nothing less than the title in their minds, and rightfully so. They had a phenomenal run at the Masters – Iceland, where Sentinels won the title without dropping a single map, further solidifying themselves as the best team in the world.

On Sunday, Sentinels will clash with G2 Esports, who are viewed as one of the top European teams; however, despite their renown, G2 Esports are simply not at the level of Sentinels. The skill gap between Sentinels and the rest of the teams is too large to ignore, and while there’s always a chance that we will see upset wins in Berlin, it’s more than fair to say Sentinels won’t be involved in any of them.

One thing that works against Sentinels is that they usually start their games slow. With that in mind, the game could look even in the first few rounds; however, once Sentinels get their wheels spinning, there is no stopping them.

In case G2 Esports manage to win map one, an in-play bet on Sentinels to win the remaining two would be a smart choice. But for now, we’re sticking with Sentinels to sweep G2 Esports.

Prediction: Sentinels -1.5 maps
