MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Braves @ Rockies Series

MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Braves @ Rockies Series

The Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies are set to start a four-game series at Coors Field in Denver on Thursday. This is a National League mismatch between the team with the best record in the National League, against one of the worst. The Atlanta Braves come into this series as winners of 8 out of their last 10 games and are 42-26. The Braves lead the National League East by 5 games. The Rockies, on the other hand, are dead last in the National League West, despite going on a recent three-game winning streak. The Rockies are only better than St. Louis and Washington in the NL.

MLB Atlanta Braves vs. Colorado Rockies Series: Thursday, June 15 – Sunday, June 18, 2023

Rockies Looking to Even Home Record

The Colorado Rockies are just a few games under .500 at home this season. Colorado came into Wednesday’s game against the Red Sox at 16-19 at home. Colorado, before winning three straight games, lost six in a row. During those six losses, the Rockies were outscored 35-20. The Rockies are 14th in all of Major League Baseball in runs scored and 9th in batting average. The problem comes on the pitching side. Colorado has a team-earned run average of 5.12 on the season. Opponents are hitting .273 against the Rockies pitching.

The Rockies bats, led by Elias Diaz, the starting catcher, and their third basemen Ryan McMahon. Diaz leads the team with a .296 batting average, while McMahon has crushed 10 home runs and drove in 37 runs. Colorado recently sent Charlie Blackmon, their veteran to the IL with a broken hand.

The Rockies will start the series with Kyle Freeland throwing. Dinelson Lamet will go in game 2, and be followed by Seabold and Anderson in this one.  Freeland is 4-7 for the Rockies, but a respectable 3.91 earned run average.

Braves Doing Lots of Things Well

The Atlanta Braves are doing a lot of things well to win games. The Braves won both ends of a doubleheader on Wednesday over Detroit. Atlanta struggled early, down 4-0, but rallied to score 10 in the win. The Braves are 6th in baseball with 339 runs scored, while they are batting .263 as a team. On the other side of the ball, Atlanta has a team ERA of 3.78 on the season.

The Braves will counter with AJ Smith Shawver on the mound in the series opener. The 20 year has thrown 7.2 innings, and allowed just 3 hits so far. After that, Atlanta will come back with Jared Shuster and then finish the weekend with Elder and Morton.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is having a MVP-type season for the Braves. He leads the team with a .333 batting average and crushed a 461 home runs in the win on Wednesday. Matt Olson leads the team with 18 big flies and also 45 runs batted in.

Braves Take Care of Colorado

The Atlanta Braves are a much better baseball team than the Colorado Rockies. Look for the tough starting pitching of the Braves, and the better lineup to play a key factor in this series. The Rockies may get one, but this weekend should be for the Braves.
