In any other ordinary MLB week, we would look ahead and try to pick out a few pitchers who you should consider MLB betting on over the next few days. This is no ordinary week, though, as we have the All-Star Game set to go tonight, after which we don’t get any more action until Friday. Rather than doing our usual pitcher picks for the week, we are instead going to look back at the first half of the season and talk about the pitchers who are leading in all the major stats. This might be good for those of you looking to make a wager on the Cy Young winners, so let’s go ahead and break it all down.

Wins

We have a 3-way tie for wins in the pitching stats, and none are really that surprising when you look at what their teams are doing as a whole. The Arizona Diamondbacks closed out the first half by giving up the lead in the West, but they still have Zach Gallen doing great things with 11 wins on the season. Spencer Strider of the Atlanta Braves, who have the best record in baseball, also has 11 wins, as does Shane McLanahan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Sitting just off the pace are Nathan Eovaldi of the Texas Rangers and Zach Elfin of the Tampa Bay Rays, both of whom have 10 wins.

Era

We have another tight race going here, with a bunch of pitchers all sitting in a very similar range. Framber Valdez of the Houston Astros is leading the way with an ERA of 2.51. but he has competition hot on his heels. Shane McLanahan is sitting at 2.53, while Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers is at an ERA of 2.55. Justin Steele of the Chicago Cubs is close to the pack with an ERA of 2.56, but then we have a bit of a gap to 5th place, where we have Nathan Eovaldi with an ERA of 2.83.

Strikeouts

Unlike the other categories, we have a clear leader in this one, with Spencer Strider of the Braves leading the way with 166 Ks. That puts him 13 ahead of the second-place pitcher, who is Kevin Gausman of the Toronto Blue Jays with 153. There is another decent sized gap once we get to 3rd in the standings, with Pablo Lopez of the Minnesota Twins with 138 Ks. The top 5 is rounded out by Blake Snell of the San Diego Padres and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels, bot of whom have 132 Ks.

Quality Starts

This is another amazingly tight category, with the top 5 pitchers all separated by just a single quality start. We have Kevin Gausman of the Blue Jays, Marcus Stroman of the Chicago Cubs, Logan Webb of the San Francisco Giants, and George Kirby of the Seattle Mariners all sitting on 14 quality starts, which is a rather impressive number. Gerrit Cole of the Yankees and Framber Valdez of the Houston Astros are both close, with both of those pitchers sitting on 13 quality starts.
