Winning MLB Betting Picks of the Week

Written by on July 4, 2016

It’s time to dust off the old crystal ball to see if we can find some winning MLB picks for the coming week. I’ll specifically be looking at things like pitching match-ups and current form here, and hopefully it’ll result in a few winners that will help boost your bankroll.  Most of the picks here are likely to be betting odds favorites, but I’ll see if I can throw a longshot or two in there as well.

Winning MLB Betting Picks of the Week

Cincinnati at Chicago Cubs – Tuesday, July 5

The Cubs have one of the best records in baseball, but they are beginning to look like a team that needs the break to come ASAP. They have only won 4 of their last 14 games, and were just swept by the Mets in 4 games. This is a team that needs a little confidence boost, and there is a chance that they will get that against a Cincinnati Reds team that has been pretty awful this season. They are having an even worse time of it than the Cubs over the past couple of weeks, and could well be the perfect tonic for Chicago. The Cubs have lost the last 3 games that veteran John Lackey has started, but I think that trend stops here.

Miami Marlins at New York Mets – Wednesday, July 6

This is an interesting divisional match-up given that both teams are trying to keep pace with the Washington Nationals in the NL East. The Mets are coming off a stunning sweep of the Cubs, and look to be hitting a decent run of form, finally. The Marlins have spent the last couple of weeks playing .500 ball, and are beginning to lose some of the momentum they had built up to this point. These two teams have split their 6 games so far this season, but the home team has won the series both times. Jacob DeGrom is scheduled to start for the Mets in this one, which should give them the edge.

Seattle Mariners at Kansas City Royals – Thursday, July 7

This is one of the better series on the schedule for the coming week, and each of the games should be close. The Mariners are going well at the moment, and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. The world champions, however, are not in familiar territory, as they are currently sitting third in their division. All of that said, I think the Royals have the edge in pitching in this one, as Danny Duffy has been unbeaten in his last 5 starts, picking up 3 W’s along the way. I’m taking the Royals to win here.

LA Angels at Baltimore Orioles – Friday, July 8

Let’s get the weekend started with what I think will be a sure win for the Baltimore Orioles. The Angels have been a major disappointment this season, and are a paltry 2-8 in their last 10 games. The Orioles have a nice little lead atop the AL East, and they will be looking to make sure that they stay there at the end of the first half. The Angels are just 2-11 against teams from the East this season, and I think they could be on the end of a beating here.
