LFA 140: Mota Vs Abuev Betting Favorites, Fights Analysis & Predictions

This is one of the busier MMA weekends in recent memory, with a bunch of different events to watch and wager on. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on LFA 140, which includes a title fight at the top of the main card. Besides that big bout, there are 4 more on the card, all of which look great in their own right. With all the action going on this Friday, you might need to do some channel hopping to take it all in, but you can catch this one on UFC Fight Pass starting at 9 PM EST on Friday night. Let’s dig a little deeper into the main card and make some LFA Betting picks.

MMA Betting Preview for LFA 140: Mota Vs Abuev

Richie Miranda Vs Elijah Harris

We get the evening rolling with a Lightweight bout between a pair of fighters heading in opposite directions. Miranda is still fairly new to life as a pro, but he has won each of his first 4 fights and looks to stay unbeaten, Harris won last time out, snapping a 3-fight losing skid and moving to 4-4. I think Miranda wins this one quickly, getting the win via submission.

Ray Waters Vs Leivon Lewis

There is not a ton of experience in this Welterweight bout, but it’s an intriguing one, nonetheless. Waters has only has 2 pro fights, both with LFA, but he has won them both in convincing style. Lewis saw his pro career get off to a fast start with 2 straight wins, but he lost last time out. I’m leaning towards Waters, but I think it goes the distance.

Ray Leinenger Vs Bahatebole Batebolati

The Welterweights will step into the octagon next, with one of these fighters coming in on a great run of form. That would be Leininger, who has won 4 in a row to take his career mark to a very respectable 8-2. This is a bounce back fight for Batebolati, who lost last time out to move to 6-1-1 as a pro. It’s always fun to see what a fighter will do after their first loss, and I think Batebolati is looking down the barrel of 2 losses in a row.

Mairon Santos Vs Dwight Joseph

The co-main event of the night is a Welterweight bout, and you have to say that it couldn’t be more evenly matched. Santos opened up his pro career with a 12-fight win streak, but he took his first loss last time out. Dwight Joseph has the exact same 12-1 record as his opponent and has won each of his last 9 fights. That sort of momentum is tough to stop, which is why I have Joseph for the win.

Carlos Mota Vs Rizvan Abuev

There is nothing quite like closing the night out with a title fight, which is what we are getting here, as these guys are fighting for the vacant LFA Flyweight Championship. Mota is 7-1 overall and bounced back from his first loss with a win last time out. Abuev is in great form, sitting at 12-3 after winning each of his last 3 fights. I like this one to go the distance, with Mota getting the decision.
