2022-23 NCAA Football National Championship Odds & Betting Analysis Before Season Starts

The long wait is almost over, with college football set to return this weekend. We are heading into what is now known as Week 0, which delivers a decent selection of games before we get to the true opening weekend next Saturday, September 3. While we are all looking at the coming games and planning on making our wagers, most of us are all gazing a little deeper into the crystal ball to see if we can come up with the next winner of the National Championship. Now is the time to get in on that, as the favorites are probably going to see their odds shorten as the season progresses and the wins start stacking up. Speaking of favorites, let’s look at who the bookies like to win the title along with their NCAA Football National Championship Odds.

Updated Odds to Win the National Championship Title | College Football Betting

Alabama Crimson Tide (+190)

Another year and another trip to the National Championship Game for the Alabama Crimson Tide, only last year did not go as planned, losing to Georgia in the title game. Given what they have done in the Nick Saban era, it’s no surprise to see them in as the favorite to win it all again. They will be as loaded as always and look like a certainty to win the SEC West and take another run at the playoffs. Saban just signed a new deal and will be around for a while, so he is also going to be looking to get back to the top of the mountain.

Ohio State Buckeyes (+220)

While last season was certainly not disastrous by any stretch of the imagination, it was strange not seeing the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game or the playoffs. It was Michigan who knocked them out of those spots, and you can bet that the Ohio State Buckeyes will be coming back this season with an eye on revenge. It’s always tough to get through the conference schedule unscathed, especially in their division, but this is a team that looks to be up to the task.

Georgia Bulldogs (+350)

After going 42 years without winning a championship, Kirby Smart took the Georgia Bulldogs back to the promised land last season, the Bulldogs lost a ton of talent to the NFL Draft. But Smart has proven to be great at bringing in the top players in the country, so don’t expect to see the Bulldogs drop off this season. They are proving that they mean business once again by opening their season against the Oregon Ducks in what will not be an easy outing by any stretch of the imagination. Look for them to win that one and roll through the SEC East en route to another trip to the SEC title game.

Clemson Tigers (+1100)

You could certainly argue that last season was a nightmare for the Clemson Tigers, who looked very poor at times. The question now is whether that season was a one off or whether we are in for more of the same. The good news for the Tigers is that they are in the ACC, which is certainly not the strongest of the Power 5 conferences, so you have to like their chances of bouncing back. Whether that translates to a playoff spot and a national title remains to be seen.
