With just three weeks and less than ten games remaining in the NBA regular season, every game becomes crucial. With teams fighting to be in the top 10 of their conference, everyone is seemingly playing for their playoff lives.
With some teams quickly rising in the standings, while others have fallen, we’ve seen some changes in the latest NBA Championship odds. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites to win the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Starting NBA Week 23: Updated Championship Odds
When Chris Paul went down with a thumb injury prior to the All-Star Break, many felt that the Phoenix Suns would miss their leader. Well, that didn’t happen, and the Suns actually extended their lead in the West.
Now that Paul is back, the Suns are ready to make their title run. Devin Booker is playing like an MVP right now, and the Suns supporting cast is playing well.
Brooklyn Nets +550
Brooklyn’s odds became better when New York City announced that unvaccinated players would be able to play within the city. That means that Kyrie Irving can now play in home games.
With Durant and Irving playing well together, the Nets are a dangerous team. Seth Curry has played well since coming to Brooklyn, as has Andre Drummond.
Golden State Warriors +650
They’ve been resting some players up, and Andrew Wiggins has tailed off since a very good first half of the season. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson could head up for the playoffs, and that would make things difficult for everyone else in the field.
Milwaukee Bucks +650
The Bucks seem to be peaking just at the right time. They’re now within a half-game of taking over the top spot in the Eastern Conference, and their stars are all playing well.
Brook Lopez came back this week, and between him and Serge Ibaka, they have a formidable inside duo on both the offensive and defensive end.
Philadelphia 76ers +650
Philadelphia is in the same boat as Milwaukee. They are also within a half-game of taking over the lead in the East.
When Joel Embiid and James Harden are both playing well, this team can score points in bunches. If they’re both going well, they could be hard to knock off.
Boston Celtics +1100
After having a poor first half of the season, the Celtics have been a force in the second half. They’re only one game behind the Miami Heat for the top spot in the East.
Boston’s defense has been the best in the league as of late. With Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown both playing well, Boston is ready for the playoffs. They have a good bench, and this is a very tough team.
Memphis Grizzlies +2000
Although Ja Morant is out for the remainder of the regular season, he should be back for the playoffs. This team has shown that they can beat anyone. With Morant, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, and Jaren Jackson Jr., this team can score and guard.
We can’t forget about the veteran leadership and toughness of Steven Adams.
