2019 College Football Week 7 Over/Under Betting Picks

No. 1 Alabama (5-0) at No. 21 Texas A&M (3-2)

Alabama has scored 42 points or more in every game this season while topping the 50-point plateau twice and the 60-point mark once. The Crimson Tide rolled all over Mississippi in their 59-31 smackdown this past weekend. Texas A&M was limited to 10 points in their season-opening loss against Clemson and a modest 20 points in their loss to Auburn two weeks later. A year ago, these SEC rivals put a combined 68 points on the board as Alabama recorded a 45-23 home win while the game’s final score played over the 59.5-point total. This time around, I’m expecting a nearly identical kind of outcome as Alabama puts at least 40 on the board and the Aggies counter by finishing in the 20s.

Betting Trends

  • Over is 3-0-1 in Crimson Tide last 4 conference games.
  • Over is 4-1 in Crimson Tide last 5 games following a straight up win.
  • The total has gone OVER in 7 of Alabama’s last 10 games.
  • Over is 5-1 in Aggies last 6 home games.
  • Over is 5-1 in Aggies last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Texas A&M’s last 8 games played in October.

Pick: Alabama 41 Texas A&M 21

Texas Tech (3-2) at Baylor (5-0)

  • When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 4:00 PM ET
  • Where: McLane Stadium, Waco, Texas
  • TV: FS1
  • College Football Week 7 Odds: Baylor -10.5 / Total: 58

Texas Tech recorded an impressive, 45-35 upset win over Oklahoma State on Saturday and the Red Raiders are averaging 31.6 points per game (58th) while allowing 26.2 points per contest defensively (63rd). Baylor remained unbeaten by downing K-State 31-12 this past weekend and the Bears are putting up a healthy 38.8 points per game (19th) while limiting the opposition to just 15.4 points per contest defensively (15th).

While Baylor has not allowed more than 21 points in any game this season, Texas Tech gave up a whopping 55 points to Oklahoma two weeks ago and 28 points to Arizona in another loss the week prior, not to mention the 35 points they allowed Oklahoma State to put on the board on Saturday.

The Bears have also won six of the last eight meetings in this Big 12 rivalry including a 35-24 road win last season that played under the 63.5-point total. The over was the pick in seven straight meetings prior to the last two meetings, but wit the total set at a manageable 58 points in this one, I like the over and Baylor to get the outright win at home in Week 7.

Betting Trends

  • Over is 4-1 in Red Raiders last 5 vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Over is 6-2 in Red Raiders last 8 conference games.
  • Under is 6-0 in Bears last 6 conference games.
  • Under is 4-1 in Bears last 5 games following a ATS win.
  • Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.

Pick: Baylor 38 Texas Tech 24

USC (3-2) at No. 10 Notre Dame (4-1)

  • When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 7:30 PM ET
  • Where: Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Indiana
  • TV:  NBC
  • College Football Week 7 Odds: Notre Dame -11 / Total: 56

Southern Cal has lost dropped two of their last three games including a convincing 28-14 road loss at Washington two weeks ago. The Trojans are averaging 29.4 points per contest (69th) while allowing 24.8 points per game defensively (57th). On the flip side of the coin, Notre Dame has won two straight and comes into this matchup off a resounding 52-0 shutout win against an overmatched Bowling Green squad on Saturday. The Fighting Irish are averaging a healthy 41.0 points per game (15th) while limiting the opposition to just 14.8 points per game defensively (14th). Notre Dame has won two straight and three of the last four in this rivalry including a hard-fought 24-17 road win last season that played under the 54.5-point total.

For this Week 7 pairing, I’m going with the Irish to take care of business at home, although they might not necessarily cover the double-digit spread. The last three meetings have all resulted in under outcomes and that’s what I’m going with this time around, although I’ll be the first to admit, it’s going to be a close call. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Betting Trends

  • Over is 9-1-1 in Trojans last 11 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game.
  • Over is 5-1 in Trojans last 6 games in October.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Notre Dame’s last 8 games.
  • Over is 7-3 in Fighting Irish last 10 vs. Pac-12.
  • Over is 7-2 in Fighting Irish last 9 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Pick: Notre Dame 31 USC 21

South Carolina Gamecocks at Georgia Bulldogs (OVER 52 ½)

  • When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM ET
  • TV: FS1
  • College Football Week 7 Odds: Total: 52.5

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the teams who are looking like legitimate National Championship candidates, but they still need to find a way to win the SEC East to get there. They will continue on that quest this weekend, as they welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks into Sanford Stadium.

It has been a bit of a backward step for South Carolina this season and they look to be in tough this weekend. This Georgia team has looked great on offense this year, so they could very well get close to this total all on their own. I like the OVER here.

Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of South Carolina’s last 6 games played in week 7
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Georgia’s last 6 games against South Carolina

Michigan Wolverines at Illinois Fighting Illini (UNDER 50 ½)

  • When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM ET
  • TV: ESPN
  • College Football Week 7 Odds: Total: 50.5

With their hammering at the hands of the Wisconsin Badgers a couple of weeks ago the belief was that the Wolverines season was all but over, at least in terms of the playoffs and the National Championship.

They have bounced back nicely with back to back wins, though, including a 10-3 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes last week, which has really set the cat among the pigeons in the Big Ten. Illinois has seen 4 of their last 5 games go UNDER, while 4 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams has also gone UNDER.

Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Michigan’s last 6 games against an opponent in the Big 10 conference
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Illinois’ last 5 games at home

Nebraska Cornhuskers at Minnesota Golden Gophers (UNDER 51 ½)

  • When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 7:30 PM ET
  • TV: NBC
  • College Football Week 7 Odds: Total: 51.5

If we are going to talk about teams in the running for a Big Ten Title and a spot in the playoffs, we perhaps need to start talking about the Minnesota Golden Gophers. They have started the season with a perfect 5-0 record, which includes being 2-0 in conference play.

They have seen 4 of their first 5 games go over the total, but I think they might have a hard time getting there this weekend against a Nebraska team that is not particularly gifted on the offensive side of the football. Let’s go with the UNDER here.

Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Nebraska’s last 6 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Minnesota’s last 5 games against an opponent in the Big 10 conference
