NCAAF 2020 Season Week 7 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

NCAAF 2020 Season Week 7 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on October 13, 2020

As we have seen through the opening 6 weeks of the season, and especially in the weeks in which the ACC and SEC seasons have played, we are in for a season full of surprises. Teams that we expected to be in the playoff hunt are struggling. Whether or not that is due to the rather odd circumstances and setup of this season is something only they will know for sure, but it is still surprising. This coming weekend, it is the primetime game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide that jumps off the schedule, with both teams coming into this week with unbeaten records and the opportunity to take the SEC by the scruff the neck with a win. Besides that one, there is a full schedule of games waiting to be wagered on. For this piece, we are looking at some O/U picks, but we will also have SU and ATS selections coming your way. Let’s get right into action so you can make your bets against their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks Week 7 | NCAA Football Betting

Kansas Jayhawks at West Virginia Mountaineers (OVER 51)

It has not been a great start for either of these two teams, but especially for Kansas, who are 0-3 and still looking for their first win of the season. The Mountaineers are still in a bit of a transition mode after bidding farewell to the Dana Holgorsen era, and this is certainly not the high-scoring offensive team that we have been used to seeing in the past. In fact, no matter how you look at it, they have been very much tending towards the under of late. Their offense might just get into the swing of things here, though, as this Jayhawks team has been bleeding points all season long, giving up 134 points through their first 3 games of the season. No surprise then that their games have been going OVER, which is what I think happens here.

Louisville Cardinals at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (OVER 64)

While we very often see a lot of scoring in college football, I am still rather wary about playing games where the O/U begins to drift over the 60-point mark. There are, though, exceptions to that rule and we have one of those types of games here. The Louisville Cardinals have been struggling in the early going and are giving up a lot of points to teams that are not anywhere near as good as the Irish, especially when Notre Dame are playing at home. There are no real dramatic point total trends to be found with Notre Dame, but there are several with Louisville, with all of them pointing in the direction of the OVER. 8 of their last 9 overall have gone over, as have 7 of their last 8 road games versus teams with a winning record. That all points to the OVER in this one.

Marshall Thundering Herd Vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (OVER 51 ½)

Unbeaten Marshall will be on the road this weekend as they try to maintain a strong start to their season. This is going to be a tough one for them, though, against a Louisiana Tech team that has been putting some points on the board this season. Marshall are no slouches on the offensive side of the football either, so we are potentially looking at a bit of a shootout in this one. The OVER has hit in 5 of the last 6 games that Marshall has played on the road against a team with a winning record. Similarly, the Bulldogs are 13-3 O/U in their last 16 home games versus a team with a winning record.
