Now, let’s find out if Chicago can take care of business at home or whether Dallas is the pick to get the big road win.

Why Bet On Dallas?

The Cowboys have dropped two straight and three of their last four, but Dallas has the more potent offense by putting up 8.1 points more than Chicago. Defensively, the Boys also match up well with Chicago by giving up just 1.6 points per game more than the Bears. While Dallas got completely and utterly dominated in their humbling 26-15 Thanksgiving Day loss to Buffalo, one week after being limited to just nine points against New England, the Cowboys still have the huge edge at quarterback and running back in this matchup, not to mention a shot to go up on Philly by two games in the NFC East with four to play.

Team Statistics

Offense:
  • Average Score For: 25.83
  • Total Yards: 432.66
  • Pass Yards: 305.08
  • Rush Yards: 127.58
Defense:
  • Average Score Against: 19.67
  • Total Yards: 321.59
  • Pass Yards: 215.17
  • Rush Yards: 106.42

Why Bet On Chicago?

The Bears might have a pretty mediocre quarterback in Mitch Trubisky and they might have problems scoring (17.7 ppg), but Chicago has won two straight and three of four, plus they are playing at home in cold weather. Chicago managed to get past Detroit 24-20 on Thanksgiving Day after squeaking past the Giants 19-14 one week earlier. Then, there’s the fact that Dallas has gone 1-3 against their non-division NFC counterparts this season, combined with the fact that Trubisky tossed three TD passes against the Lions and no interceptions (say what?). Last but not least, Dallas has gotten beaten to a pulp by teams with elite defenses this season.

Team Statistics

Offense:

  • Total Yards: 281.75
  • Pass Yards: 202.42
  • Rush Yards: 79.33

  • Total Yards: 319.67
  • Pass Yards: 222.17
  • Rush Yards: 97.50

Cowboys vs Bears Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know Chicago’s Mitch Trubisky is borderline incompetent and that Dallas has the big edge in scoring and overall offensive talent. However, I like the fact that the Bears are finding ways to win games, even if it’s been in really ugly fashion recently. Chicago has not allowed more than 20 points in four straight games and that just doesn’t bode well for a struggling Cowboys offense coming into this contest. I know the Boys are slight road favorites (why?) but I really feel like they shouldn’t be and that the Bears are going to take care of business in a game that comes down to the wire. The Bears are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in December while Dallas has gone 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games. I’m going with the Bears for the outright win in an ‘ugly’ kind of contest.

Pick: Chicago 21 Dallas 17
