NFL Giants Betting Tips for the 2022 Season: Win Total, Division and Conference, Super Bowl and More

The New York Giants will enter the 2022 NFL Season one of the most improved teams in the league. NYG made the smart move of hiring Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Not only that, but the Giants improved their offense and defense by drafting a couple of top 10 NFL first round picks. Does that mean the Giants offer overlay odds to win their division, conference, and Super Bowl? Find out in the New York Giants 2022 Season NFL Betting Guide.

2022-23 NFL Regular Season

  • When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023

New York Giants Over/Under 7 ½

The Giants had one of this year’s more memorable NFL Drafts. NYG called Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux’s name with the fifth pick in the first round.

Then with the seventh pick in round 1, the Giants drafted Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal. Neal will help open up holes for returning running back Saquon Barkley.

Thibodeaux will ensure the Giants can rush opposing passers. Also, the schedule is more than workable. Giants over is the play.

Total Game Pick: Over 7 ½

Giants to win the NFC East +650

Dallas, Philadelphia, and Washington are the favorites. For sure, Dallas is a better team than the New York Giants. But Philadelphia and Washington may not be.

NYG may have a better quarterback than either the Eagles or the Commanders. Daniel Jones never got a shot. Daboll will give him a chance to prove he’s a legit NFL starter.

But although Jones could improve, the odds don’t make the Giants an overlay. We’ll call NYG’s odds to win the NFC East fair.

NFC East Odds: Fair

NYG to win the NFC Conference +4400

If the Giants played in the AFC, we’d call the odds fair. But because the Giants play in the NFC, the odds are overlaid. NYG could improve enough to challenge the Cowboys for the NFC East title.

If New York makes the playoffs, they might have a good enough team on both sides of the ball to beat a Green Bay Packer squad without a true WR1, a Tampa Bay team that appears overrated, and a Rams’ squad without Von Miller.

NFC Conference Odds: Overlay

NYG to Win the Super Bowl +8500

If the Giants manage to win the NFC, they can win the Super Bowl. New York is a much better team this season than they were last season.

The presence of a healthy Saquon Barkley is huge. Evan Neal playing on the opposite side of left tackle Andrew Thomas means Barkley will see rushing lanes across the line and not just on a single side.

Opponents will have to double right defensive end Leonard Williams, which means rookie linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux will run free. The +8500 odds are overlaid for sure.

Super Bowl Odds: Overlay

WLB Kayvon Thibodeaux to Win NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Year +560

The Giants play a 3-4 defense, which means NYG plays with 3 defensive linemen and 4 backers. Thibodeaux will start at the weakside linebacker position.

In football, the weak side linebacker sets up where there are fewer blockers, meaning NYG opponents will either have to roll the line to account for Thibodeaux, or use a running back to block the talented rookie.

Leonard Williams is a must double-team. So on many plays, Thibodeaux will have to beat a running back to get to the quarterback. Kayvon should win rookie of the year. The odds don’t make Thibodeaux an overlay, though. Instead, they are fair.

NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Year Odds: Fair
