Philadelphia Eagles 2021 Calendar Betting Predictions

While we are still only in the month of May and the NFL season does not begin until September, the reality is that we are not that far away from training camps and the start of preseason games. With that in mind, we thought it might be a good idea to start looking at individual teams and their chances of winning this season. It is worth remembering that lineups can still change dramatically when June 1 rolls around, as we expect that more moves will be made once that date arrives. We will address all of that at a later date, but for now, let’s start looking at individual teams, starting with the Philadelphia Eagles so you can plan ahead your bets against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting – Philadelphia Eagles Calendar Odds & Analysis For the 2021-22 Season

The Eagles in 2020

To say that it was a chaotic year in Philadelphia in 2020 is perhaps putting things rather mildly. There were rumors of problems between the coach and QB, and once Doug Peterson was shown the door, the thought was that Carson Wentz had won the battle. That proved to be false, with the QB benched and eventually shipped out in the offseason, all of which meant that Jalen Hurts was handed the role of starting quarterback.

The Eagles finished 4-11-1 last season, which left them at the bottom of the NFC East, which is even more troubling when you consider that the division overall last season was poor. A big part of their problem came on the road, where they went just 1-7, but the reality is that there were problems on the field and off, which usually means that a disastrous season is the result.

Odds to Make the Playoffs and Win the Super Bowl

The Eagles did do well in the draft and addressed a lot of need this offseason, but the jury is still out on Jalen Hurts. This team will sink or swim based on the performance of their QB, and they need to understand that there are going to be mistakes made in his first full season under center. The division is also going to be better this year, particularly with Dallas getting Dak Prescott back from injury. As it stands at the moment, the odds for the Eagles making the playoffs are as follows:

A lot will depend on how they start the season, and they certainly have a chance to pick up wins early on. They open against Atlanta and then take on the 49ers in Week 2, so a pair of games against teams that finished last in their respective divisions last season. If they can win those, you might see Hurts get into a groove heading into a Monday night game versus the Cowboys in Week 3. Looking ahead, though, things get a whole lot tougher, with the likelihood being that this team finishes below .500, with a 7-10 or 8-9 season the most likely outcomes, in my opinion.

Even if they do make it into the postseason, they are not likely to make a whole lot of noise, and the bookies tend to agree, listing the Eagles at +6600 to win the Super Bowl. Realistically, this season is all about finding out if they have their franchise QB and beginning to build around him if they do.
