We’re nearly through the Super Wild Card Round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs. We’ve already had two upsets and another near-upset. In looking at the teams remaining in the field, we’re primed for some potential blockbuster matchups. Let’s take a look at some of the possible matchups for your Super Bowl Betting Odds.
Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers
Right now, the 49ers look like the team to beat in the NFC. After they beat Seattle, they are primed to make a long playoff run. Offensively, this team is going to be very hard to stop. With Brock Purdy playing at an unbelievable level, the Niners offense is firing on all cylinders. With Christian McCaffrey running the ball, a healthy Deebo Samuel, and Purdy making plays, this team will be hard to stop.
The Buffalo Bills nearly didn’t survive a Miami Dolphins team playing with a third-string quarterback. The Dolphins gave Buffalo all they wanted and more. Josh Allen reverted back to the mid-season when he was turning the ball over, and that kept the Dolphins in the game. If Allen continues to do this, the Bills will be in trouble. However, if he plays at the high level that he did for most of the season, the Bills will be hard to handle.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Philadelphia Eagles finished the season 13-3 and are the top seed in the NFC. Jalen Hurts led the offense all season, and was much better than anyone expected. With AJ Brown and Devonta Smith as his wideouts, the Eagles have a very good passing attack. The injury to Lane Johnson on the offensive line has hurt the Eagles offense. He has returned to practice, so he could play in the Eagles next game.
Philadelphia has one of the top secondaries in the league, so it will be a great matchup between them and Patrick Mahomes and the high-powered Chiefs offense. Kansas City hasn’t missed Tyreek Hill this season. Mahomes has spread the wealth, and having numerous receivers making big plays has been a huge help for the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs defense has been very good this year as well, so this would be a great matchup.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Even though Tampa Bay must defeat Dallas on Monday night to even have a shot at getting to the Super Bowl, we would love to see one final Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes matchup. These two have met in some huge games in the past, including Brady’s Bucs defeating Mahomes and the Chiefs in a Super Bowl. With Brady nearing retirement, and handing over the reins to Mahomes, this matchup would have some great storylines.
Tampa has not had a very good season, but by virtue of winning the NFC South, they made the playoffs and will host a first-round game. The offense kicked it into gear in the final week of the regular season. The Tampa defense has been good throughout the season, but the offense often let them down.
If we can see the Brady of old, this would be a matchup that everyone would enjoy watching.
