2024 NFC Championship Team: Do the 49ers Have What it Takes to Win Super Bowl?

Do the 49ers Have What it Takes to Win Super Bowl?

Every team starts the new season in the NFL with dreams of going all the way to the Super Bowl and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, but as we all know, only one team can achieve that goal each year. The bookies start the year by listing their odds for every team, but those odds have a way of shifting on an almost weekly basis, which is something we will get into a little deeper in a moment. If you look at the odds at the start of the season, and specifically the top 5 teams in the eyes of the bookies, you see that only 2 of those teams are still alive.

The San Francisco 49ers are one of those teams, but do they have what it takes to go all the way.

Let’s take a look at this NFC Championship team betting analysis: the San Francisco 49ers and discuss their odds to win the Super Bowl along with some reasons why they have what it takes to get the job done.

Do the 49ers Have What it Takes to Win Super Bowl? | MyBookie NFC Championship Team Betting Analysis to Win the Title

49ers Season | 74th in the National Football League
2024 Super Bowl Game: Sunday, February 11th, 2024

Starting Odds Vs Current Odds

There is certainly more pressure on the teams who are among the favorites at the start of the season, and it’s not every team that is equipped to handle that pressure. The 49ers have, for the most part, been consistently good all season, seeing their odds shorten dramatically from where they were at the start of the season, when they were listed at +900. Heading into this weekend, they are now the favorite to win the Super Bowl, sitting at odds of +150. Will they be able to continue handling the pressure of being the favorite?

San Francisco 49ers Positives and Negatives

For a while last year, it looked as though the 49ers might be in trouble. They got hit hard by an injury bug in the QB room, with the reins eventually handed to Brock Purdy. While no one really expected much, Purdy took advantage of his opportunity and led the 49ers to the NFC Conference Championship Game before finally falling to the Eagles. He has not lost a step in Year 2, which is rather obvious when you look at the stats for the 49ers this season.

While Purdy was certainly great this season, finishing 4th in YPG through the air, he was helped by a strong run game, which finished 3rd in YPG. That all added up to a lot of scoring, with the 49ers averaging just shy of 29 PPG, which had them 3rd overall in the league. The defense held up their end of the bargain, allowing just 17 PPG, good for 3rd overall in the NFL.

You might look at those stats and think that there are no chinks in the 49ers armor, but that is not necessarily the case. They closed out the season losing 2 of 3 and just managed to get past the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. There is also a chance that Deebo Samuel might not be available this weekend, as the 49ers have him listed as 50-50 to play this weekend. That could prove to be a problem if he cannot play.

Can The 49ers Win It All?

The 49ers are in as the favorite to win it all for a reason. They are a team with very few weaknesses, so they really do have to be considered a threat to go on and win it all, although the Lions are not going to go down without a fight.

2024 San Francisco 49ers Postseason Betting Analysis

Previous Betting News

The San Francisco 49ers come into the postseason as the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl in February of 2024. While it will not be an easy task, the 49ers certainly have the talent and leadership to get the job done.

Let’s take a look at the San Francisco 49ers 2024 Postseason betting analysis, discussing their odds to win the NFC and the Super Bowl. Then, we can discuss why to and why to not bet on the 49ers this postseason:

San Francisco 49ers Postseason Betting Analysis | MyBookie Regular Season Preview

2023 49ers Season | 74th in the National Football League
NFL Wild Card: Thursday, October 25th – Monday, October 31st, 2023

49ers Odds to Win NFC:

The San Francisco 49ers are -125 to win the NFC. That’s a big favorite, with the Cowboys coming in second at +320 and the Eagles at +750. The 49ers obviously are off during the first weekend, which gives them 1 in 4 chance based on straight probability. The 49ers will get the Buccaneers, Eagles, Rams or Packers in the first game of the postseason. San Francisco just played the Rams, but it was without any of their starters or impact players. The 49ers odds are not great value by any means, but they are the best team in the NFC, so it could be a payout that would warrant you a win.

49ers Odds to Win Super Bowl:

The 49ers are +220 to win the Super Bowl. Again, the favorite. They are only ahead of the Baltimore Ravens. Keep in mind, the Ravens just beat the 49ers, and beat them pretty easily in December. It’s a little strange to see the 49ers such favorites, but the oddsmakers must love what they see when the 49ers put their best effort out there. The Ravens are +310, Buffalo at +650 and Dallas comes in at +750. Again, as the favorite, not great value there. But, a $100 bet on the 49ers would earn you $220 in profit if they can win three postseason games.

Why Bet on the 49ers:

Christian McCaffrey
The best running back in the league. A guy the 49ers can give the football to early and often. A guy that consistently finds the end zone, and can move the sticks when needed.

Brock Purdy
We already know his story, and where he was drafted, but we are ignoring his season. The guy passed for nearly 70% completion, and over 4,200 yards and 31 touchdowns. The former Iowa State signal caller threw 11 interceptions, but 4 came in one game.

The Defense
This is an elite defense. They are allowing 17.5 points per game. If they can through three postseason games and allow just 17-18 points in each game, they will win the Super Bowl. The offense should be good for 20+ against any team they play.

Why Bet Against the 49ers:

Major, Major part of the game. But the injury bug already is a question mark with Christian McCaffrey and his calf injury. Thankfully, the 49ers did not need him at the end of the Week 17 game or Week 18 affair, and will take Week 19 off. But, without McCaffrey at full strength, this team likely does not win three games.

Postseason Inexperience at Quarterback
Sure, Brock Purdy came in last season and did some good things in the postseason. But, when push comes to shove, he is pretty inexperienced when it comes to postseason play. A guy like Matthew Stafford would dwarf him in postseason experience.

Not Super Odds
If you love the 49ers chances – take them, bet them, and cheer for them. If you are looking for value in betting, it’s not in the 49ers. Pretty point blank here.

2023 San Francisco 49ers Top Games to Bet in Regular Season | MyBookie Regular Season Preview: Week 1-17

NFL Regular Season: September 7, 2023 – January 7, 2024

Many are projecting the San Francisco 49ers to be one of the best teams in the NFC in 2023. The 49ers have a talented group on both sides of the field and are well-coached. But, what does their schedule look like?

We present to you the San Francisco 49ers top NFL bames to bet in all Regular Season Week 1-17.

Week 1: @ Pittsburgh Steelers

The first game of the season. You never know what will happen when the season gets started. The 49ers will have to go on the road to Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin is going to have his team prepared for the Week 1 game. These two teams are tough, and this could be a low-scoring affair. No matter who wins it, it should be fun. Be sure to keep your eyes on this one as one of the top games in Week 1.

NFL Week 1 Top Game: Bet Steelers vs. 49ers
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 5: w/ Dallas Cowboys

Another NFC contender. The Cowboys are one of the teams projected to make the postseason out of the NFC. The Cowboys have Dak Prescott and will look at a different approach to the running back situation. Gone is Ezekial Elliott, but Tony Pollard looks to take it over. This should be a fun game, but the question will be – can Dallas go on the road and beat a tough 49ers squad?

NFL Week 5 Top Game: Bet Cowboys vs. 49ers
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 8: w/ Cincinnati Bengals

A possible Super Bowl matchup? It’s possible. The 49ers and Bengals would be a really fun matchup. This gets Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase into the Bay Area. The 49ers’ defense will have their hands full. This looks like it could be the game of the Week in Week 8.

NFL Week 8 Top Game: Bet Bengals vs. 49ers
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 13: @ Philadelphia Eagles

A rematch of the NFC Championship from a season ago. The 49ers and Eagles are going to be loaded coming into the season. The Eagles will have Jalen Hurts for the 49ers to contend with. The 49ers and their staff know that if they are going to get to the Super Bowl, the road is likely going to have to go through the city of brotherly love.

NFL Week 13 Top Game: Bet 49ers vs. Eagles
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 14: w/ Seattle Seahawks

A divisional battle. Projection of the best two teams in the division. Geno Smith is going to have some weapons to through to. Pete Carroll loves to take on divisional teams. This may be one of those games where one of the teams is just a field goal favorite. Look for a fun Week 14 game and one that could go a long way in seeing who will win the division.

NFL Week 14 Top Game: Bet Seahawks vs. 49ers
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 16: w/ Baltimore Ravens

The 49ers will welcome Lamar Jackson to town. In what used to be called the Harbaugh Bowl, one of the brothers is still in the rivalry. The Ravens are many people’s outside pick to surprise and not only win their division but quite possibly the Super Bowl. This should be a fun game with offensive superstars against teams with tough defensive stars.

NFL Week 16 Top Game: Bet Ravens vs. 49ers
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Week 18: w/ Los Angeles Rams

Any chance Sean Mcvay can get his Rams back in the mix? If so, this would be a heck of a Week 18 game. The Rams are going to appear young and inexperienced, but it’s hard to count them out again, knowing they have Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp. It’s never easy for either team when the Rams and 49ers mix it up.

NFL Week 18 Top Game: Bet Rams vs. 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are going to be fun to follow. The NFGC West favorites, and one of the top favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. They have some great games on their schedule, and we hope we highlighted a few of the best.

2023 San Francisco 49ers: Top Games to Bet in Regular Season Week 1-4

Previous Betting News

2023 San Francisco 49ers: Top Games to Bet in Regular Season Week 1-4 | NFL Lines by MyBookie

NFL Regular Season: September 7, 2023 – January 7, 2024

Would the San Francisco 49ers have won the Super Bowl last season if stellar rookie quarterback Brock Purdy hadn’t gotten injured early in the NFC Championship Game blowout loss in Philadelphia? We will never know, but Purdy had been unbeaten as a starter entering that game and still is unbeaten in games he started and finished as the last overall pick – Mr. Irrelevant – of the NFL Draft.

It was truly one of the most unlikely rookie seasons in NFL history and Purdy got plenty of votes for Offensive Rookie of the Year despite not taking over until around midseason after both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo were lost for the season to injury. Jimmy G is now with the Raiders. Lance, the former No. 3 overall pick, is still with the Niners but the starting job is Purdy’s to lose.

There is one major piece of player news to monitor on the Niners for the early season: The status of reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa. He is holding out for a new contract, and he frankly deserves one. Bosa finished the 2022 season with a league-leading 18.5 sacks, adding 51 tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, 48 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles. His 90 total QB pressures tied with Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons for the most in the league. Bosa’s Pro Football Focus overall grade of 90.9, pass rush grade of 90.9 and tackle grade of 71.4 were career highs. He earned first-team All-Pro honors and was selected to his third Pro Bowl.

Bosa is entering the fifth and final season of the rookie contract he signed in 2019 and wants to be among the highest-paid defenders in the NFL. The Niners probably will get something done with Bosa. Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald currently makes the most at nearly $31.2 million per year.

“I don’t like not having one of our best players here,” GM John Lynch said early this week in camp. “We’ve got a really good track record that I’m proud of as a group of having our players in, but I also understand it. And understand that we’re going to have to exhibit some patience and understand that ultimately this thing will work out.”

Here are the Niners’ first four games and their NFL odds in them. The 49ers were 10-0 outright and 9-1 ATS as home favorites last season including the NFL playoffs, the best record in the NFL. Alas, San Francisco doesn’t play at home until Week 3.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)

Week 1 at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA
When: Sunday, september 10, 1:00pm ET
TV/Streaming: FOX

It’s the first meeting in four years between two of the league’s most successful franchises. The Steelers opened up last year at 2-6 before finding their groove and winning seven of their last 11 games. Pittsburgh finished 9-8 on the year, marking head coach Mike Tomlin’s 16th straight .500-or-better season. It’s the third straight season the Niners open on the road. San Francisco is 12-10 all-time against the Steelers and visits Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field) for the first time since September of the 2015 season.

Los Angeles Rams (-5)

Week 2 at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
When: Sunday, september 17, 4:05pm ET
TV/Streaming: FOX

San Francisco has absolutely owned the Rams in recent regular seasons, but of course LA rallied at home to beat the Niners in the NFC title game following the 2021 season on the way to winning the Super Bowl. The game in LA last year was a 31-14 Niners win in Week 8. Running back Christian McCaffrey became the 11th player in NFL history with a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in one game. The trade acquisition threw a 34-yard TD pass in the first half, caught a 9-yard TD pass from Jimmy Garoppolo in the third quarter and then put the Niners in control with a TD run early in the fourth. The 49ers are riding an eight-game regular season win streak over the Rams.

New York Giants (-5.5)

Week 3 Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
When: Thursday, september 21, 8:15pm ET
TV/Streaming: Prime Video

The last time the 49ers defeated the Giants at Levi’s Stadium was in November of the 2017 season. The all-time series is tied 21-21 including playoffs. The last meeting was in 2020 and the Niners rolled 36-9. The matchup will be a good test for what the Giants expect to be an improved run defense. After allowing the sixth-most rushing yards in 2022, the Giants beefed up the defensive front in free agency with linemen A’Shawn Robinson and Rakeem Nunez-Roches and linebacker Bobby Okereke.

Arizona Cardinals (-10)

Week 3 Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
When: Sunday, october 1, 4:25pm ET
TV/Streaming: FOX

Arizona on paper might be the worst team in the NFL and this is the only game in 2023 where the Niners are double-digit favorites currently, but that obviously can change. The Niners swept the 2022 series, including a 38-13 home rout in Week 18. Brock Purdy had three TD passes for SF. Purdy overcame two sacks by J.J. Watt in the final game of the star defensive end’s stellar career and connected with George Kittle twice and Christian McCaffrey once on TD passes. The win earned the Niners the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs.

San Francisco 49ers 2022 Season NFL Betting Guide to Help You Wager On Their Odds

Previous Betting News

Every season on the NFL, there are always one or two divisions that are that much tougher than the rest. This year, the NFC West looks to be one of those divisions, as there can be solid arguments made for 3 of the 4 teams in there. The only team that looks to be headed for a long, rough season is the Seattle Seahawks, but it looks as though we could potentially see a great battle between the Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers, all of whom won double-digit games last season. All three of those teams ended up in the playoffs, so there is a chance we might see at least 2 go again this year.. Can the 49ers take a step forward this season and get back to the playoffs? Let’s look at the current odds for the division and a few other things to see what we can come up with so you can plan your bets against their Odds for the NFL game.

San Francisco 49ers 2022 Season NFL Betting Guide to Help You Wager On Their Odds

49ers Win Total

The win total for the 49ers has been set at 9 ½ for the upcoming season, which basically has them close to standing pat after a 10-7 season last year. This is a number that you might want to keep an eye on, though, as there is still some indecision at the QB spot in San Francisco. All signs seem to point to Jimmy G moving on to pastures new and Trey Lance taking the reins, but we are now midway through the month of July and Garoppolo is still in San Francisco. The fact of the matter is that I think the 49ers have a better chance of winning with Garoppolo as the starter, so I really am on the fence about the win total, although I don’t think 10 or 11 wins is out of the question.

49ers Division and Conference Odds

Like we said earlier in this piece, winning the West is not going to be easy. The Rams, as expected, are in as the favorite at odds of +129, but the bookies have this division as being tight, with the 49ers currently in at odds of +172. How they make out in their two games against the Super Bowl champions might well go a long way towards deciding which team rules the West.

As far as the NFC as a whole goes, the feeling is that it will be a little weaker this season, so 10 or 11 wins might be enough for a Wild Card spot this time around, which it was not in 2021. Again, the 49ers are considered to be very much in the mix, with just 3 teams ahead of them on the board. As it stands now, the 49ers are +720 to win the NFC Championship, but we might well see those odds change once they make a final decision on their starting QB.

49ers Super Bowl Odds

No matter who eventually gets the start for the 49ers this season, I am not fully convinced that either of them can take this team to the promised land. Yes, Jimmy G took them to the NFC Championship Game last season, but the belief is that he will still be elsewhere once the season begins. Trey Lance going all the way to a championship in his first full season looks like a longshot, but if you like the 49ers to go all the way, you can get them at odds of +1525 to win the Super Bowl.

Are the San Francisco 49ers the Best Team in the 2022 NFC?

Previous Betting News

Are the San Francisco 49ers the Best Team in the 2022 NFC?

The San Francisco 49ers have had quite the season. First off, starting quarterback, Trey Lance was injured early in the season, had surgery, and is out for the season. Jimmy Garoppolo, who many thought would be traded, took over and led the Niners until he was injured. Enter, Mr. Irrelevant, the last player drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy. Purdy has been great for the Niners, and he’ll be under center for the playoffs.

This is just part of a memorable season for the 49ers. They’ve had numerous injuries, requiring many of their key players to miss numerous games. When starting running back Elijah Mitchell went down; the Niners acquired star running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers. With McCaffrey in the backfield, Deebo Samuel back healthy, George Kittle playing well, and an offensive line that has played well, San Francisco is ready to make a long playoff run. It’s time to check how the San Francisco 49ers arrive to this 2023 postseason so you can bet against their NFL Playoffs Lines.

Playoff Odds

San Francisco will host their division rivals, the Seattle Seahawks in their playoff opener. The Niners are 8-1 at home this season, and they’re on a 10-game winning streak. Seattle needed help from the Detroit Lions in the last game of the regular season to sneak into the playoffs. The 49ers are huge favorites in this one, as the oddsmakers have made them 10-point favorites.

With the Niners being the hottest team in the league, and arguably the best team in the NFC, they have a great shot at winning the conference. The sportsbooks have San Francisco at a +210 to win the NFC. The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team to have better odds than San Francisco, as they come in at a +175.

As for the Super Bowl, the 49ers have the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl. They’re behind Kansas City at a +330, and Buffalo at a +420. San Francisco is a +500 to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.

Are the 49ers a Good Bet?

Since getting everyone back healthy, the Niners have quietly put together a very good season. With much of the attention being on the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys, the Niners have somewhat snuck under the radar. Right now, we think they’re the best team in the NFC. We think that it’s a smart bet to put money on San Francisco winning the NFC. Philadelphia has cooled off, the Dallas defense has struggled, and we don’t see another team from the conference challenging the 49ers.

While we think they’ll represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, we’re not sure if they have enough to defeat the winner of the AFC. Even though their defense hasn’t given up more than 20 points in their 10-game winning streak, they haven’t played against offenses as strong as Buffalo’s, Cincinnati’s, or Kansas City’s.

If you would like to take our advice, we really like placing a wager on the Niners to win the NFC, but we’d hold off on placing a bet on them to win the Super Bowl.

San Francisco 49ers Odds

  • To Win NFC +115
  • To Win Super Bowl +375

San Francisco 49ers Team Analysis

San Francisco went 13-3 SU and 9-6-1 ATS behind one of the most feared defenses in the league. The 49ers ranked second in total yards allowed. Opponents averaged 281.8 per. What makes the 49ers’ defense so devastating is how they get to quarterbacks to stop the pass. While opponents rushed for 112 yards per against San Francisco, they managed just 169.2 passing yards per game.

The 49ers produced 48 sacks. That ranked 5th behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and L.A. Rams. San Francisco forced 23 fumbles. The most in the league. But even though the defense carried SF for most of the season, the 49ers aren’t a one-trick pony team.

The offense rocked as well. San Francisco averages 381.1 yards per game. That ranks 4th in the NFL. The rushing attack is good for 144.1 yards per, ranking 2nd in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo does a great impression of Troy Aikman. He averages 237 yards per and isn’t flashy. He does what he must for the 49ers to score 29.9 points each game, though. San Francisco ranks second in scoring per.

The top seed might get better on defense. If Dee Ford returns one-hundred percent, the defense will terrorize opposing offenses even more in the playoffs than it did during the season.

Are +115 fair odds on the 49ers to win the NFC?

On the one hand, yes. The 49ers beat their top competition, New Orleans, 48-46 during the regular season. Not only that but the Saints must play during Wildcard Weekend while the Niners get the week off.

On the other hand, San Francisco didn’t play its best football in December. New Orleans scored 46 points against them. Atlanta beat them straight up 29-22. They had to rally to beat the Rams 34-31.

In Week 17, Seattle had a chance to punch it in from the 1-yard line on the last play of the game. If not for a delay of game call, the Seahawks might have knocked the 49ers from the 1-seed to the 5-seed.

It adds up to having faith in San Francisco that they will beat their NFC Divisional Playoff opponent and their NFC Conference opponent. At +115, that’s more faith than we should offer this talented but tired squad.

Are +375 fair odds on the 49ers to win the Super Bowl?

Even though the San Francisco 49ers aren’t a great play to win the conference at +115, they are a good play to win the Super Bowl at +375. It’s about the odds. The odds to win the Super Bowl are more than justified because San Francisco is 1-of-2 teams that can upset the Baltimore Ravens.

If we pencil in the Ravens as the AFC winners, we must look to the NFC to beat the Ravens in the Super Bowl. 2 NFC teams can accomplish that: the 49ers and the Saints. San Francisco almost beat the Ravens during the regular season.

If the week off allows San Francisco to recharge, they can win the NFC. If they win the NFC, they can beat the Ravens or anyone else in the Super Bowl. So, yes, the odds to win the NFC are underlay odds because the competition is fierce and they’re a tired bunch. The odds to win the Super Bowl are overlay odds.
