Ravens vs Steelers 2019 NFL Week 5 Lines, Game Preview & Analysis

Why Bet On Baltimore at -4?

There are a few good reasons to back Baltimore in this matchup. The Ravens will have a healthy sense of motivation after dropping two straight including their humbling 40-25 home loss against Cleveland last weekend. Baltimore will also be looking to extract some revenge after losing the Pittsburgh the last time they met. Then, there’s the fact that the Steelers look like a shell of their former selves despite getting their first win of the season in Week 4.

Why Bet On Pittsburgh at +4?

In spite of their slow start and the fact that starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is out for the remainder of the season, there are a couple of good reasons to back the Steelers to cover the chalk in this one.  First, Pittsburgh is playing at home where they’ll have the full support of their fan base. Then, there’s the fact that the Steelers have pretty much owned the Ravens by winning four of the last five meetings, including a 23-16 road win last season. Then, there’s the fact that Pittsburgh and second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph will have some confidence after getting their first win of the season by taking out Cincinnati 27-3 on Monday night. Rudolph passed for 229 yards and two touchdowns while running back, part-time wide receiver and now, wildcat quarterback Jaylen Samuels racked up 134 yards of total offense and a touchdown run in the win.

Ravens vs Steelers Expert Analysis and Prediction

While Baltimore has gone backwards the last two weeks and Pittsburgh got an impressive win on Monday night, I’m going to back the ravens to get their act together to get the huge road win in this now, intriguing AFC North battle. First of all, I’m looking at Pittsburgh’s win over Cincinnati for what it was – a must-win matchup for the Steelers that came against an almost completely inept Bengals team that is ranked 30th in scoring and 28th in points allowed.

The Ravens are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Pittsburgh while the road team in this AFC North rivalry has gone 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. I’m expecting Baltimore to get back to playing better defense after getting gashed for a combined 73 points over their last two games. The Ravens are the better statistical team on both sides of the ball and I believe Lamar Jackson will show up in this one to lead the Ravens to the huge, ATS-covering win.

Pick: Baltimore -4
