Week 10 NFL Expert Picks: Los Angeles At New York

Written by on November 8, 2016

A pair of underachieving three-win teams will hook up in a Week 10 ‘under the radar’ matchup that may not be getting a ton of national attention, but one that I believe is offering some of the best value of any matchup on the Week 10 docket. Now, let’s find out why as well as the latest online NFL betting odds.

Analyzing The Week 10 NFL Expert Picks: Rams At Jets

When: Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM ET Where: MetLife Stadium TV: FOX Live Stream: FOX Sports GO NFL Odds: NY Jets -2.5 / Total: 39.5

Los Angeles Rams

Not only have the Los Angeles Rams (3-5 SU, 3-4-1 ATS) lost four straight games coming into this Week 10 matchup against the Jets, but they’ve looked increasingly worse along the way as evidenced by the fact they’ve been held to just 10 points in each of their last two games. The Rams held Cam Newton and the Panthers to a modest 13 points last weekend and sacked the 2015 league MVP a whopping five times, but again, L.A. couldn’t score the ball more than once, hence, another humbling defeat. Veteran quarterback Case Keenum completed 27 of 46 passes for 296 yards with one touchdown and one interception while running back Todd Gurley was limited to just 48 rushing yards in the loss. Fans at the Coliseum began chanting for Keenum’s benching and for rookie No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff to finally play this season. “We’re being patient with him” head coach Jeff Fisher said afterward. For the season, Keenum has thrown nine touchdown passes and 11 interceptions while Gurley, the 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year, has been limited to 456 rushing yards.

New York Jets

The Jets (3-6 SU, 3-5-1 ATS) fought their hearts out last weekend but ended up on the wrong end of a narrow 27-23 loss to AFC East division rival Miami on Sunday to fall to 2-3 SU over their last five games. Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 17 of 28 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown but also continued his season-long penchant for tossing costly interceptions by tossing two picks against the Fins. Veteran running back Matt Forte has a fine game by rushing 12 times for 92 yards and one score. “We had opportunity after opportunity and didn’t get it done” Fitzpatrick said afterward. “It all falls on the quarterback. There’s a lot of things I could have done better today.”

Expert Prediction and Pick

The New York Jets might have their fair share of problems, but they’re still the easy pick to win and cash in against a Los Angeles Rams team that has some serious issues scoring the ball and one that should be getting ready to fire head coach Jeff Fisher the very first day after the regular season ends. I know the Rams have a very good defense, but they simply struggle too much offensively to get in the end zone very often against New York’s aggressive defense. I’m fully expecting the Jets to force Rams quarterback Case Keenum into at least one costly turnover and likely two, while limiting the Rams’ scoring opportunities for the vast majority of this contest. The Rams are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games and 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 road games. With the Jets going 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games and coming into this matchup with a sizeable amount of desperation, I say the Jets get the win and ATS cover.

Pick: NY Jets 27 LA Rams 17
